This Friday we are discussing transfers that don’t take, because we did not fail, the embryo did not fail, it simply did not take. And that’s okay. It can be heartbreaking and we as surrogates are allowed to feel the emotional rollercoaster too, but remember YOU DID NOT FAIL. 

Often times surrogates place blame on themselves and sometimes others place blame on the surrogate. But in order to create life, SO MANY things have to align perfectly, not just semi-perfect, but 100% perfectly. And sometimes there is no rhyme or reason, it just doesn’t work. 

Unfortunately sickness was spreading like wildfire and some girls were unable to make this conversion, but fortunately Mary was able to speak with us and Ellen has experienced this as well.

This week we talked with Chantale, Canadian surrogate. She is a repeat surrogate, but her second journey didn’t go as she had hoped. If you don’t know, Canadian surrogates don’t get compensated like US surrogates, therefore their matching process is a little different than ours. Meaning surrogates and IPs tend to have a deeper or more friendly bond, and in Chantale’s case this friendly bond goes all the way back to high-school. And as an outsider (someone who has not experienced this) I just want to say to all those c-section mamas out there, you are badass! A warrior! I thought I knew what it meant to have a c-section and the recovery of one, but it wasn’t until speaking in depth with these 3 ladies that I truly understood just what that entails for you and your support team. 💕
