This week’s episode asks a crucial question: “What Happened to General Surab Azimi?” Surab, who died three years ago, was posthumously promoted from Lt Col to General by his friends at the Afghan United Front after the Taliban executed his men in June 2021. According to Naqib Mirzada, the Afghan National Army Special Operations Corps asked for American air support 100+ times to help Surab and his men, but that support never came. It is an excruciatingly difficult conversation to hear, but we will dig into it until we get all the evidence we can. This is the first piece of evidence.

In this week’s episode, we speak with LTG Haibitullah Alizai, who commanded multiple Afghan National Army corps, including the Special Operations Corps. Like his father, whom Co-Founder Will Selber advised in 2014, Haibitullah served in both the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Defense, climbing to the top position in the Afghan National Army. Haibituallah is an incredible leader and warrior.

Naqib Murzada is many things: a son of Afghanistan, a warrior, a West Point graduate, and an American hero. He was the third Afghan to graduate from one of America’s most prestigious universities, going on to graduate from Ranger and Air Assault school. Murzada went on to fight on the front lines against the Islamic State, Al Qaeda, and the Taliban. He’s now a proud member of the Afghan United Front, an organization dedicated to freeing the Afghan people.
