Before I started my journey in software development, I was going to university for Business Management and serving in the Air National Guard as an Avionics Technician on C-130H Aircrafts where I earned Bachelor's Degree and my Secret Security Clearance. I have always been a "fixer" when it comes to solving problems, and I enjoy making things that people are able to use in their daily lives. I used to fix tangible things, but now I am learning to be a "fixer" in the development of applications that can be useful to a user. I enjoy channeling my problem solving skills into the programming process.

I approach every project in life with the same urge for improvement — whether it’s iterating through the UI/UX design process, building a full stack web application or recording a new song with my band. I thoroughly enjoy identifying problems and coming up with creative solutions throughout designing and building applications, with the ultimate goal to make software and websites more enjoyable and productive to use.

After beginning my career in the finance industry I started to look for ways to build my skill set and increase my value as an employee. I began taking classes in data analytics, which led me to discover a passion for programming. Eventually I started dabbling in web development which prompted me to take the plunge and join a full time software development program. Upon finishing this program I would like to use the skills and knowledge I have gained to continue my career as a software developer.

I was already enrolled at Nashville State Community College but changed majors to a degree in Cisco networking. During my time at NSCC, I took an Intro to Programming class which used Python as the curriculum. After writing my first few programs, I became amazed at how developers create the software experience; I was hooked on coding. This led me to enroll at Nashville Software School to become a full-stack software developer in addition to becoming a Cisco certified network technician.
