I started learning to code through self-study online after I found myself often thinking of ways to improve applications, but lacking the skills to implement my ideas. After taking a few online courses, I began looking for a more engaging learning environment and enrolled in Nashville Software School. Software development has afforded me a new level of fulfillment in my work and I am eager to use my skills to make a positive and purposeful impact in my career.

Creativity and efficiency have always been essential driving principles for me, which leads me to have a great appreciation for good design. That elegant balance where form meets function is what I strive to achieve in all of my work from interior architecture to coding. Within coding, I've found a path where I have more freedom to explore with minimal resources. Coding provides me with the power to continuously expand and improve as there are always new problems to solve and new ways to solve old problems.

I always wanted to be a software developer. When I was 13 years old in Tel Aviv, I taught myself Basic and Logo programming languages out of books and fell in love with coding. The endless possibilities that can only be limited by one’s own creativity sparked my imagination. I moved to the US in 2011 and opened my own business. I put coding aside for a while and continued pursuing other entrepreneurship endeavors but never gave up on my dream to be a professional software developer. When I heard about Nashville Software School I saw my opportunity to start this new career, and I went for it. Now I can’t imagine anything else I would rather do.

While on a varied and steadfast journey through the many faces of the Nashville music industry, I eventually found myself longing for a new challenge. I began looking at possibilities for what might be my next endeavor and I knew immediately that I wanted to pursue something that would allow me to be constantly learning while allowing me to have impact by utilizing my past experiences. That search eventually led me to rediscover an interest in being creative with technology and to find Nashville Software School. I'm thrilled to have been given the opportunity to study at NSS and launch my new career in this exciting, dynamic field.

I wanted something that would challenge me on a daily basis and allow me to work on diverse teams. While doing some research, I reflected back during the time when I was first exposed to software development. Building a webpage was full of excitement and challenges; it allowed me to express my creative side while pushing my problem solving side. I'm excited to embark on this journey as a Software Developer.
