I am an extremely motivated, hard working individual who is seeking to pivot back into the tech World. Through my work experience and educational back ground I have gained exceptional interpersonal skills, project management, skills in building reports, and skills in cultivating numbers to improve BI. Through NSS I have gained real world experience and have been able to build my portfolio to showcase my use and understanding of analytical data/tools, such as, SQL, python, Tableau, and Power BI to make informed decisions and present information to different boards and peers that are easy to understand and relatable.

I have a background in microbiology, and am now armed with a firm foundation in Data Analytics. After working 3+ years in a clinical laboratory, I wanted to learn more about the analytical side of laboratory data. I am looking to combine my knowledge in laboratory practices and data analytics in order to go into bioinformatics.

A creative thinker who has a adroitness for providing solutions to complex problems. Challenges of patterning complex data, and translating data into easily digested stories keep me engaged and eager to learn. Finding new technology's, tinkering with interesting datasets, and long term projects is a great day. However, I would always choose playing with my dogs over data sets. Sorry, not sorry.

As an introvert who loves people, I find coding to be the perfect combination of collaboration and quiet focus. My role on a team seems to be that of organizer. I’m often the one pointing to the wireframe or dependency graph and reminding everyone to focus on MVP (minimum viable product). I’m also strongly invested in making sure everyone on the team understands the goal and feels like they have some input in planning and some agency in execution.

I moved to Nashville from Puerto Rico with intentions to pursue my career in accounting. This plan took a turn when my lingering interest in technology was satisfied by the opportunity of the Nashville Software School program during the 2020 pandemic. As someone who's grown up bilingual in Spanish and English, it only makes sense that I add more languages to my library like JavaScript and Python.

I have always been interested in software development, but never really gave it a chance outside of a few elective classes in college. As life slowed down over these past few months, I decided it was time to give it a shot. Very quickly I discovered that I have a real passion for this field and it has inspired me to make a major career change to become a software developer.
