Kirk Sudduth graduated with Full-time Web Development Cohort 40.

Most of my working life has been spent punching the clock at restaurants. Specifically, Burger Up and Burger Up East Nashville. The soft skills I have earned since I began working at restaurants are immeasurable. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience working at restaurants, but I felt the need to shift careers because software development is incredibly exciting and a tornado on March 3 destroyed BU East. When I'm not wading through the murky water of opportunity disguised as obstacle, I'm really loving getting to spend all this extra time with my partner and our child! Self-improvement is my daily pursuit.

I spent 15+ years traveling in entertainment touring and corporate production. Over that time, I discovered my passion and skill for problem solving and critical thinking. When I had a need to limit my travel I was excited to learn that Software Development was a perfect fit for my skillset. I'm now focused on creative solutions for software development with a positive and calm mindset in any situation. I have a very diverse background in multi-media and event technology with a strong history in leading team driven project execution for clients with expectations of flawlessness.

I discovered a passion for creating software while I was a business administrator at an SEO Web Design company. After working closely with the development team, I realized that I wanted to use software to solve problems, invent new products and services, and improve efficiency. I am passionate about ongoing learning, problem-solving, teamwork, and collaboration. I am excited to find new ways to leverage technology to develop new products and services. Outside of my coursework at Nashville Software School, I am learning Swift and iOS development.

My goal is to increase my knowledge in design and development while improving performance and usability.

I have always been interested in software development and when I found out about the Nashville Software School, I jumped at the opportunity. I am looking forward to a career in a field where creativity and perpetual learning are a must to succeed.

The realization that web development was the right career path for me was a huge lightbulb moment in my professional life. I've been in the workforce long enough to know my strengths and what gives me job satisfaction, and to know that the two generally go hand in hand. I was looking for a career path that allows for continuous growth, and where my knack for research and creative problem solving would play a regular part in my role.
