Place kicking legend, Phil Dawson is busy post-retirement from football. Busy rebuilding a high school football program in Austin, Texas.

Phil Dawson retired from the NFL in 2019 after 21 seasons.
Prior to that he set 13 Texas Longhorn kicking records and was an All-American.
Before that he played multiple positions for Lake Highlands High School in the DFW area.
In 2020, he fulfilled a dream to coach high school as an assistant for Lipscomb Academy in Tennessee.

Two years later, Dawson accepted the head coaching opportunity at Hyde Park Football
His first season produced 8 wins.
He accomplished that with his oldest son, Dru on his coaching staff.
The same Dru who was the quarterback for Vandegrift Football
Dru's little brother, Beau played for dad while at Lipscomb after transferring from Vandegrift.
Their dad is literally rebuilding the program's infrastructure and facilities.
The Hyde Park community is supporitive of Dawson and his vision, constructing a new field house and weight room facility.
The goal for Dawson is to firmly establish Hype Park as a private school option for student-athletes to transfer to from local and state powers like Westlake, Lake Travis, and Vandegrift.
