Kellner continued to build his brand. But, Kellner watched from a far the demise of The Horn and devised a plan to build a podcast network on YouTube called, Texas Sports Unfiltered.

Tuck, a Norfolk, Virginia native took a different road to becoming a Longhorn. A smaller linebacker prospect who flew under the radar and began his college football career at lower D1/FCS program, James Madison Dukes

After a couple of seasons, the game slowed down for Tuck and he got out of his own way from a mental point of view, and began to dominate and decided to enter the transfer portal for his final season of eligibility.

That's when Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns Football program lured Tuck to Austin. A program he knew about all too well and signed.

His path to Austin afforded him one season as UT linebacker.

But, that's scratching the surface to Tuck's story.

This is a grounded and driven young man who values education and goal oriented.
Not to mention tested by adversity in life.

Mack Brown celebrated his 100th win as a head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels.

We broke down our analysis of UT's season opening 37-10 win over Rice.

*Keep in mind the concepts of Sark's offense was in place but the game plan was simple due to the next opponent, Alabama.

But, the execution offensively was not up to par.

Collectively we gave the win a B-

Offensively, a C

Defensively a B+

Quinn Ewers slow start in the 1st half and the offensive line experienced some communication issues with the Rice defensive front and blitzes, resulting in Ewers being rushed often.

Coupled with Ewers missing on some deep balls.

However, Ewers did finish with 3 touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown.

Defensively, the Longhorns presented the Owls a basic game plan with base fronts and coverages, which is encouraging considering Texas limited the Owls to 27 yards rushing on 25 attempts.

No major injuries heading into the BIG week at Alabama. ESPN Gameday will set up shop in Tuscaloosa.

UT's defense will have an enormous challenge in containing Alabama dual threat quarterback, Jalen Milroe who was once a UT commit.

Deion Sanders Colorado Buffaloes Football program made a statement upsetting #17 TCU in Fort Worth and quieted all of his critics.


Texas State Bobcat Football shocked the world earning the program's first win against a power 5 FBS program, beating Baylor 42-31 in GJ Kinne's 1st game as the Bobcats head football coach.

A tribute to Jimmy Buffett and the genesis of his hit Margaritaville, which is rooted to Austin, Texas.

The Big 12's not so great opening week. Texas Tech joined Baylor and TCU with season opening losses. The Red Raiders lost at Wyoming.

David Bailiff is a Texas State Bobcat Football legend who played for then SWT and later was the head coach of the Bobcats. And, has returned to San Marcos to assist in building the Bobcat football program as 1st year head coach GJ Kinne's right hand man.

The Bobcats kickoff their season with lofty goals and expectations under 1st year head coach, G.J. Kinne.

Texas State opens the season at Baylor.

Bailiff played for the late head coaching legend, Jim Wacker who led the Bobcats to back-to-back D2 national titles in 1981 and 1982. Bailiff's senior season was 1980, if not for a penalty in a playoff game Bailiff said that may have been the front end of a 3-peat.

Bailiff began his coaching career on the staff at New Braunfels High School and later became a member of the SWT staff. Then to New Mexico, back to SWT, then to TCU Football, back to San Marcos as the head coach of Texas State Bobcat Football (named changed from SWT), and later became the head coach of the Rice Owls and retired after a short stint at Texas A&M Commerce Football 

GJ Kinne hired Bailiff as his special assistant.

A move which was briliant and beneficial especially with Bailiff's ties to the Texas High School Coaches Association 

An organization which Bailiff convinced to move from Austin to San Marcos while the Bobcats head coach.

Bailiff's Man Cave story involved dogs relieving themself on a bathroom rug while Kevin Sumlin was a guest at Bailiff's house.

Bailiff is an ambassador for all things Texas State Bobcat. Texas State University

Texas is the 11th ranked team in the Associated Press's preseason poll. We all agree that's a fair start for the Longhorns to kick off the season. In recent history, like other programs, Texas has experienced seasons in which they didn't live up to their lofty preseason ranking.

Place kicking legend, Phil Dawson is busy post-retirement from football. Busy rebuilding a high school football program in Austin, Texas.

Phil Dawson  retired from the NFL in 2019 after 21 seasons.

Prior to that he set 13 Texas Longhorn kicking records and was an All-American.

Before that he played multiple positions for Lake Highlands High School in the DFW area.

In 2020, he fulfilled a dream to coach high school as an assistant for Lipscomb Academy in Tennessee.

Two years later, Dawson accepted the head coaching opportunity at  Hyde Park Football 

His first season produced 8 wins.

He accomplished that with his oldest son, Dru on his coaching staff.

The same Dru who was the quarterback for Vandegrift Football 

Dru's little brother, Beau played for dad while at Lipscomb after transferring from Vandegrift.

Their dad is literally rebuilding the program's infrastructure and facilities. 

The Hyde Park community is supporitive of Dawson and his vision, constructing a new field house and weight room facility.

The goal for Dawson is to firmly establish Hype Park as a private school option for student-athletes to transfer to from local and state powers like Westlake, Lake Travis, and Vandegrift.
