After 36 years, the native of the Golden Triangle in southeast Texas and the former Texas Longhorns quarterback is retiring from coaching high school football after the 2021 season.

Dodge could end his career with a fairytale ending by winning a 3rd consecutive state championship at Westlake High School in Austin.

If that happens, Dodge will finish his career with 7 state championship rings. 4 at Southlake Carroll and 3 at Westlake.

The ties to Westlake are rather deep. His lovely wife, Elizabeth is the daughter of the late, Ebbie Neptune, who was a previous athletics director and head football coach at Westlake.

The field at Westlake is currently named after Neptune.

Dodge's Man Cave Story was epic and it involved him driving Neptune's car and someone rear ending the car while he was dating his wife, Elizabeth while they were students at UT.

Speaking of, our good friend & former Dallas Cowboy defensive back provided the IG post of the week. The Stories Inside the Man Cave VIP alumni addressed a humorous curiosity. Why do barbers click their scissors multiple times after each trimming of a follicle.

It was Clynch and Hardge holding the fort down while "Big MIke" and "Coach Mo" were swamped with business obligations.

The former Texas Longhorn football running back great from Kirbyville, Texas was candid and open about this story in segment 1 with Clynch and Hardge.

Hadnot delivered some entertaining stories about his upbringing in East Texas and the resurgent 1990 Texas football season called, the Shock the Nation Tour. A freshman season in which Hadnot rushed for 500+ yards and contributed to UT's 1st conference championship since 1983 that season. Only to experience an embarrassing frigid morning at the Cotton Bowl against "The U", the Miami Hurricanes.

A game if Texas would've won, the Longhorns may have captured the national championship.

Butch experienced some drama after his sophomore season. A misunderstanding about the reasons why he was on the Texas A&M campus, dropping off friends of his who played on the Aggie football team. It was portrayed as he was inquiring about transferring to Texas A&M.

According to Hadnot, that was not the truth.

Hadnot experienced some academic issues which is why he took summer classes in 1992 after John Mackovic was hired to succeed David McWilliams. Hadnot signed with the Canadian Football League's Toronto Argonauts, then found out he was reinstated academically with UT. But, it was too late to continue playing college football due to signing to play professionally.

Butch offered his take on the Name, Image, & likeness and how that would've benefitted himself and student-athletes during his era.

Hadnot's story included becoming a mentor to youth and youth sports all while returning to finish his degree at UT.

In segment 2, Clynch and Hardge discuss the NLI subject and how fellow co-host, Mike Murphy, the owner of Last Stand Hats, are educating prospective student-athletes how to partner with the right companies.

The boys delivered some energy about Austin's 1st true high level pro sports team, Austin FC scoring the franchise's 1st goal(s) at their home Q2 Stadium last week vs Portland.

Clynch and Hardge closed it out with the "Tell Me Something Good" segment.

Guest VIPs: Ace and Kirk Whitehead

Guest co-host: John Hygh, sports anchor/reporter for Fox 7 in Austin.

"Big Mike", Hardball Hardge, and Coach Mo all had to take the day off.

Asher Cade Whitehead is his full name.
The pride of Lampasas, TX is another legend from this Texas Hill Country town which produced the late, great Texas Longhorn legend, Johnny "Lam" Jones who possessed world class speed.

Whitehead produced astronomical numbers as a quarterback for the Lampasas High School football program.
Ace produced: 190 career touchdowns passing and rushing and over 14,000 yards passing.

But, not one power 5 FBS college football program gave him a serious look or offer.

Baseball is Ace's other passion. A sport he nearly gave up for good if not for the loss of his cousin, Braden Summers six years ago.

Summers was like a brother to Ace. They literally did everything together including play baseball.

The tough loss of his cousin reignited an interest in baseball and led him to an offer from his dream baseball program, the University of Texas.

Ace signed with Texas and is currently in Austin.

Whitehead's Man Cave Story was all about the Lampasas legend, Johnny "Lam" Jones.

Graham's story has multiple angles including his family. Beginning with his father, William, who is a Texas Football #DBU alumni and played for the Detroit Lions

Gavin's mom, Lisa, the matriarch of the Grahams is the one who is the foundation of these men in this household.

Then there's his older brother, Hayden who graduated from the Air Force Academy and played basketball for the Falcons program as well. Hayden is now an officer in the United States Air Force.

As Gavin tells his story, you quickly find out how close his family truly is. He refers to his dad as his, "hero".

His true character and leadership skills were revealed in how he responded to the countless injuries he suffered while playing football at Texas State. Instead of asking, why, Gavin is grateful for each of them because it gave him a new perspective on life.

His Man Cave Story was absolutely hilarious, his dad tripped over a barrier while getting excited in anticipation of a Texas Longhorns football game.

Former Texas Longhorn defensive back, Adrian Colbert took some time out of his hectic schedule to tell his inspiring story.

Colbert finished his college football career as a Miami Hurricane, where he played for former UT defensive coordinator, Manny Diaz. Colbert changed NFL homes, he recently signed with the New England Patriots.

But, the football piece is a small piece of Colbert's inspiring and compelling story.

Most of Colbert's young life, his father experienced the gang life in Wichita Falls and those two didn't have the best relationship.

At age six, Colbert suffered an accident on his bike which nearly took his life. That tragedy improved his relationship with his father.

Colbert eventually moved to Mineral Wells where he became an additional piece of the Clarke family. A loving and caring white family which took Colbert in and providing love and support of Adrian and normalcy.

During his time as a Longhorn, Colbert never truly found his role and he admitted to experiencing depression and anger. But, he is a deeply rooted Longhorn for life and takes great pride in that.

He searched for a fresh start and decided to transfer to Miami (FL). That move was exactly what Colbert needed. He shined and was selected in the 7th round of the NFL Draft in 2017 and remains in the NFL. Colbert is happier and wiser and wants to positively impact other's lives.

Colbert peaced out with a humorous Man Cave Story.
