Just a bit different than some other personal development resources. This approach says to be comfortable with your uncomfortable emotions that come up whenever you try and pursue something new. Or beyond being comfortable, because you may never get to the comforts of the emotions that are created whenever you try for something that stretches you. It says to take the actions despite the uncomfortable feelings because if you dont you will just seasaw back and forth between the contentment of not achieving and the uncomfortable emotions as you THINK about attaining more. The way he gets you to want to be better is genius. Buy anything David Friedman related!

Great book to help change your limiting thoughts.

Most of us know that we create our own reality with our thoughts or whatever we think about we bring about. So having said that why do so many of us struggle getting what we want and are usually more successful at getting what we don't want? David has a great way to finally get us what we truly want with our thoughts. It's a method he coined called Thought Exchange which has you stay with the sensations that certain new thoughts may bring and keep us from running back the other more comfortable thoughts that keep us stuck. Different from Law of Attraction yet similar

We don't try to convince ourselves that unwanted things don't exist. Instead we use the thought exchange to exchange what we don't want for something we do. My favorite analogy is that there is salt amd pepper on the table and yiu are cooking a meal that calls for salt. You use the salt but leave the pepper where it is.

Helping me make changes that matter!

Love the way David shares real stories about real people, including himself. Very willing to be transparent and vulnerable. Presents truths with a new twist that lets me keep going and sustain changes that I've been working on for a long time. Very helpful section on how Thought Exchange works with other modalities--in addition to, rather than instead of. I bought one copy of the book from David, and within a week had given it away and bought another copy for myself. Highly recommend.

Best spirituality book I've ever read

After reading pretty much every book in the spirituality/self-help aisle, and after years of practicing different meditation and psychological and new-thought modalities, I can safely say that Thought Exchange puts all the best and most useful parts of all of them into a single practice that is easy to use.

One of the Best books to keep us informed to keep Breast Cancer away!

I think this is one of the best Breast Cancer Books out there. We, as women, need to read and take more control of our health and I believe this book is a great reference that spells out the up-to-date ways to keep breast cancer away the best we can. I have recommended this book to friends..and/or gave others advice from this book (a main one, to take supplemental Vitamin D3). This book is easy to read, learn from, and to use as a reference (in my home library)....like I said one of the best books to keep us informed to keep Breast Cancer away!

A Must Read For Every Woman

I ordered this book because of my recent breast tumor (benign with pre-cancer cells and clean margins) and could not put it down. I believe every woman should take control of her health and this book is an excellent guide in that process. Too many of us tend to take initial medical advice at face value. This book substantiates the fact that we need to be well-informed when it comes to our own health decisions. One of my favorite quotes from this book is "The most important person in your health and healing team is YOU! You are the character of central importance." One of the most important pieces of information I took away from this book is that a healthy lifestyle is of upmost importance with general health and well-being and cancer prevention.

Great book to complement mainstream cancer books

We bought this book to complementThe Breast Cancer Survival Manual, Fifth Edition. We thought we should have one mainstream book to educate ourselves about cancer treatment, and one "alternative" book that had information about exercise, nutritional supplements, "mind/body approaches," etc.

The book has fifty chapters, each covering one concept in cancer treatment and recovery. I didn't find something valuable in every chapter, but just reading the book gave me a more positive attitude, and we used many of the ideas from the book. One idea that stayed with me was "believing in your treatment." Do your research, get second opinions - whatever it takes - so that you believe in your treatment.

Great book

I loved the book.. it is a story like, education like, it's full of knowledge out of real time experience. Helps me to understand how to help my boyfriend's father, who I like dearly.

I'm so grateful for this book!

This helped me put my own current situation with caring for my own mother with dementia in perspective. I appreciate the information so much. I wish I would have read this 3 years ago. My mother also played the piano and is a Godly woman, so this book almost felt like a story about her.

Sadly, sadly, so sadly that is a must read

My mother has senile dementia, just as the author's mother. I bought the book with the hope of finding something useful for dealing with her illness. However, I found the same sad history of his journey through this hell. Luckily, for him, his mother is kind of a very nice dementia patient. My mother is not that sweet, furthermore, she is an atheist, so believing in nothing makes the illness even hopeless. I have wondered myself what we have done to deserve to watch a loved one going through this. At the end, there is no cure, no hope. I found myself crying when doing my commuting and hearing this book. I can't say don't read it. Read it because it may help to know that you are not alone.

Read it and be prepared because this illness is a very expensive one, so not only takes away your happiness but all your assets. Read it, because it can last more than a decade.

However to be honest, my husband sometimes complains if I at the end will be like she is. And honestly I have answered to him, let me, take me to an asylum and forget about me.

Keep it handy

Having first read Being Here over two years ago, it has been a pleasure to pick it up again. Each chapter starts with a heading like "Forgiveness and Compassion", subjects I thought I understood, but in these pages, they are defined in new and powerful ways. Instead of focusing on the person I feel I must forgive in order to unburden them, I now see how this act of compassion ultimately serves to lighten my own heart.

Through real life stories artfully retold, the Kane's illustrate the importance of their living-in-the-moment strategies for life and happiness. These simple stories continually remind me how trans formative their work is and continues to be in my life, offering me the chance to see what's right in front of me, enjoying the gift of life in every moment. It's not complicated and does not require a PHD to understand how simple life can be.

I suggest keeping this book handy so that you can read over and over.

Good reading for anyone who deals with teenagers.

Interesting book!

I had to read this book for a class and ended up liking it more than I had expected. The views about motivation were taken directly from students and I liked that aspect. The students made great points and spoke truthfully. It made me re-evaluate my motivational methods in class.

What disappointed you about The Body Language of Dating?

I was very disappointed and I wasted 22.00$ on a book that didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. I hated the book. It worthless!!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Tonya Reiman?

Her voice is annoying as hell

One or two chapters about cave men and women would have been more than enough.

What could Tonya Reiman have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

She could have given more examples of body language without all the stories about early man. I wanted to learn about current body language and how it relates to dating today.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Tonya Reiman?

Anybody but Tonya. I love her Kindle book The Power of Body language and I enjoy watching her on YouTube. I didn't enjoy listening to her read her own book. It sounded like she was READING it.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I'm disappointed. I'll stick to reading her books on my own. I highly recommend What Every Body Is Saying by Joe Navarro. It's the best audio book on body language I've listened to so far.

Kept listening, but did not learn anything about reading signals, etc... so I gave up after the first few chapters.

Not what I expected

This is a sermon, pure and simple. Not really helpful. Plus, it's dated. He seems to be waiting for the end of the Mayan calendar and that time passed several years ago.

What do I want?

I had listened before, but this time I heard the message, wow, and thank you for sharing your story and at the same time giving us the message. We all need to truly listen!
