"Ever been late to your first job in 13 months? Or your first date with your high school crush, to a broadway show that you'd promised you would be at, saying you 'wouldn't miss it for the world'? Well, Kathie was late to both, all in the span of a single day. It's actually how she earned the nickname 'Late Kate'. She was good at a lot of things, and unfortunately, tardiness happened to be one of them. Most of the time, she could've sworn it wasn't entirely her fault she was late, sometimes it wasn't her fault at all.
Henrik often joked that the universe had some balance to maintain, and Kate's tardiness was the pivot, the fulcrum if you will. It was funny the first three or four times, but by the 1000th time, it'd gotten almost as old as the Late Kate joke.

Much like many a hero of the tale, Kate fell victim to society and began to feel
rather...ostracized. She began to feel as though she needed to..be accepted, rather than despised. She began to feel as though she needed to change.
This was her mistake, for; the more one changes for others, the more one begins to lose sense of self, and identity. One loses the bright light that emanates their path through existence and allows society to throw a torchlight onto a path it sees fit for the individual.
I would be a flawed omnipresence in this story by saying that I felt for Kate as I have seen many a lost soul fall victim to society similarly, if not in the same way. If I could stretch a hand and guide them onto the appropriate path, I would. But, rules are rules..."
