Extending mercy and forgiveness is evidence that we have been saved by God's mercy and forgiveness in Christ!

The Joy of Following Christ!

We are what we consume to some extent.

Jesus compels us to seek after a right relationship with God, and to seek after God's will.

It's a call to be in right relationship with God, with others, and the world at large.

Joy of our salvation!

The meek are those whose anger is under control.

The meek are gentle and God-controlled.

The meek submit to God's will.

God is faithful to his people!

God is faithful even in discipline!

God is faithful in all things and at all times!

This beatitudes is a call to mourn our individual sin and brokenness as well as the world's.

It's a call to grief our sins so that we might receive the comfort of forgiveness, changed lives, indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and salvation.

God Is Faithful.

God is faithful to His promises.

God's is praised in heaven.

God's faithfulness is revealed in creation and God's ongoing control of creation.

In this message, the Sermon on the Mount is introduced as the greatest sermon ever preached.

The Beatitudes give us a portrait of Jesus.  We learn how to live as Jesus lived.  We learn how to have a blessed life, a happiness that does not come from outward circumstances but from our relationship with Christ.

The first beatitude is foundational.  We must be poor in spirit - that is humble enough to know we cannot save ourselves if we're going to accept God's mercy in Christ.

David's Psalm is a plea for mercy.

It reminds us:

1. We need God's Mercy.

2. God gives Mercy.

3. We can plea for mercy.

4. We should tell others of God's mercy.
