Three blind men walk into a bar…

…and it all went rather well actually. All involved had quite a nice time.

Sam and Matthew go to the pub for a couple of refreshing summertime libations with Australia’s most-capped blind cricketer  Michael Zannis.

Mick talks us through his day job as a braille teacher at the Royal Society for the Blind, tells us the shocking story of how he lost his sight and stares wistfully into his pint as he remembers his sporting glory days!

Both Sams have represented Australia in 400m and the 800m - it’s just that Guest Sam’s experience is a little more recent!

Presenter Sam asks Guest Sam about competing at the 2020 Summer Paralympics and both Sams compare notes on the different challenges facing athletes today and in the olden days.

His name is Gary O’Donoghue.

In this interview, Gary gives us an account of how daily life in Washington D.C. has been affected by COVID, tells us how the rhythm of his professional life has changed in the last ten months since the end of the Trump presidency (and what he refers to as the associated ‘hour-by-hour tweetfest’) and gives us pretty much the most concise and eloquent run-down you’re ever likely to hear of the major political, social, economic and cultural issues facing the United States today.

She’s a musician, producer and writer. 

She also makes her voice heard on issues that are relevant to thoughts we have here on Studio 1; as co-chair of the Recording Academy’s advocacy chapter, as well as founding RAMPD - an organisation for recording artists with disabilities.
