Matthew Layton and Sam Rickard present Studio 1 - Vision Australia Radio’s weekly look at life from a low vision and blind point of view.
This Friday - October 15th - is International White Cane Day and for the second year in a row, Vision Australia Radio are supporting a virtual music festival to mark the occasion.
And for the second year running Studio 1 has been given exclusive access to the virtual red carpet.
This year it’s a truly global event. There are thirty artists on the bill from Australia, New Zealand, the USA, the UK, Ireland, Croatia, Nigeria, South Africa and even Guadeloupe in the Caribbean.
This year, all of Vision Australia Radio’s International White Cane Day coverage and activities are being sponsored by Uber.
We wish their Head of Rider Operations, Rita Peker, a Happy White Cane Day and talk about the company’s new initiative to support passengers with guide dogs (and other service animals).
If any of the issues covered in this episode strike a chord with you or if there’s a topic you feel we should be talking about, please get in touch with the show:
