There's burnout, and then there's emotional burnout. Often, you don't feel it because you don't have time to feel it - life is busy. Emotional burnout can surface after the loss of a family member, a serious health scare, or any sort of trial. It's when you're tired of being sad, and sad that you feel so tired.
Studio 5 Relationship Contributor Dr. Matt Townsend believes most of us don't even know what emotional overwhelm is, and many people experience it without realizing. He shared how to know if you’re emotionally burnt out and ways to overcome it.
Find more advice from Matt at matttownsend.com, including an online program that will help you and your closest relationships “become one.” Find Matt’s “Becoming One” program on his home page for more information.

The statistics tell a compelling story. Today’s kids and teens are dealing with more worry and stress than ever before. As time passes, the world outside seems to be getting more complicated, and it’s a shared sentiment among parents that our children often don’t feel safe outside the home.
Alexis Bradley and Chanté Stutznegger, hosts of the online community ‘Let’s Talk Sis,’ shared how parents can create safety inside the home, transforming it into a summer haven and making kids feel safe.

It's sort of a mom joke that we're all in on. Jumping on the trampoline sometimes doesn't jive for a woman who has been through childbirth. It's like a grown up girl code. We understand it, but we don't often talk about it.

Father’s Day is just around the corner, and it’s time to celebrate the men who play a crucial role in our lives. While dads are often stereotyped as the ones playing catch in the yard or grilling burgers out back, their strengths extend far beyond these clichés.
Studio 5 Relationship Contributor Dr. Matt Townsend explained that there is hard evidence to suggest that having an involved father is crucial to a child’s emotional well-being.

It's a powerful source of human happiness.
Studio 5 Relationship Contributor Dr. Matt Townsend believes that what matters most in life are the intangibles. The things we can't see. Where having a house is a tangible, we all really long for the intangible "feeling of home." We want the tangible of having a partner, but what we really long for is the intangible need to "be loved."
Matt offers a 10-day relationship makeover program that is truly changing lives. It’s 10 days to improve what is most important to so many people. You can find it on his website, matttownsend.com.

Summer is a season of flexibility, especially when it comes to parenting. The usual parenting do’s and don’ts seem to take a backseat as we embrace the laid-back vibe of the season, but if there’s one thing that should remain constant in your parenting approach, not just in summer but all year round, it’s empathy.
