Just who's side are you on?!!  We've all heard that before.  That's an excellent question to ask ourselves as we deal with our voiceover clients.  We're all raised tribal, and tend to view "the other guy" as the enemy.   If we can get past that, lots of great possibilities open up.  That's where we're headed in this episode.

Steak and raspberries are two of my favorite foods, but neither of them is quite as good without something added to them.  For steak, some salt and pepper, for raspberries a little sugar.  The very same principle applies to voiceovers.  We want the real us to come through, but with just a little seasoning to magnify the flavor.  That's the theory I talk about in this Studio Takes.

There's a certain lilting "awe" in the sound of narrations for places like National Geographic, NOVA, and similar shows, that comes in handy when you are asked to do a piece of awesome places like space, deep sea adventures, history, etc.  Conquer it, and you have one more great arrow in your style quiver.

Don't go and BUY a second monitor for your Mac desktop or laptop until you've tried this extremely well-behaved and excellent technique.  It lets you use your iPad as an extension of your display.  I use it all day long every day and it works great!
