Study in Prayer

We have been talking these past few days about being “tuned into” God. Yesterday, we looked at having faith as large as ONE GRAIN OF RICE!  Do you remember? If not or if you missed, go back and view it or listen to it. It was definitely a Holy Spirit led moment. Amen!  

I want to look now, at receiving answers to your prayer requests to God for the things you want. You can do this by simply believing the scriptures and the prayers you said actually worked. Notice I used a past tense on worked. Not that “they will work.” Not that “they are going to work.” But, when you prayed – they WORKED. The job was done.

“Well, brother bob, what if I don’t see the results.”

Let me ask you this.  Are you saved? 

“YES”

How do you know?

“Well, Jesus said I was when I asked Him to forgive me and come into my heart…”

Did you SEE any change your body? Did money start raining down from Heaven to help you financially? Did life suddenly become all sunshine and roses?

“Noooo – but I still know I’m saved. By Faith!”

EXACTLY! That is my point!

YES – some people will see an immediate event or change. Someone they prayed for will instantly be healed. Someone you pray for to be healed will die. Did God answer your prayer?

“No – they died…”

But – where did they go? Once they died, where did they go? If they were Christians, they went to Heaven, right? So they have received a Glorified Body and they will never be sick again!

“Yeah, but – I wanted them healed here…”

First, “don’t’ Yeah, but – God. Ok.

Second, what YOU want – was it backed up by scripture?  Did you find a scripture that said, “So and so will be healed and stay here?”

The answer, in case you are wondering, is NO.  There is no scripture that guarantees you or anyone else will live forever on earth in this body. None. Our hope is in our eternal, glorified bodies with Christ. Amen.

“But I don’t understand. You said to believe we receive and we could have it. I prayed and they died. I didn’t get what I wanted for the answer.”

This can quickly turn into a very in-depth teaching…and I’m trying to keep this teaching short. We will go over this more in upcoming sessions. But let me say this…

Notice what you just said in regards to this example.

I wanted… I wanted… I wanted…I wanted them healed. I wanted my finances fixed. I wanted…

Now, let’s go back to our scripture references. Remember, we are focusing all of our requests on scripture, right? That is the purpose of this training.

Matthew 6:32 says, “…your Heavenly Father knows you NEED all of these THINGS.”

Ok. So there are THINGS YOU NEED. Notice that…

He is telling us to ASK FOR THE THINGS WE NEED…

He expects us to come to Him in prayer, in the Name of Jesus, and ASK FOR THE THINGS WE NEED…

One more time… NEED.  Notice the words you uses in the example I provided… WANTED.

There is a difference between a NEED and a WANT.

I want a million dollars.  But do I NEED a million dollars?  Or would $1,000 meet my need that I’m faced with right now?

See the difference?

We have been taught that God allows sickness, disease or calamities to happen in our lives in order to “teach” us something.  That is not scriptural.  Sickness, disease and calamities are covered under the curses – and we have been redeemed from the curses! (Galatian 3:13-14).

We have been taught that our children ran from God because of something we have done in our past.  We have been taught that our children must “find their own way.”  Both of these concepts are not scriptural.  It is our responsibility as parents to pray for our children and teach them that God loves them and is there for them when we cannot be.

We have been taught that we can “never know what God will do.”  But the Bible says the Holy Spirit will show us all things! (John 14:25-27).

We have been taught that sometimes God answers our prayers and sometimes he doesn’t. But the Bible says God’s answers to our prayers are YES and AMEN. (2 Corinthians 1:20).

We have been taught that miracle healings are not for today. That God developed medical centers and modern medicine so we would not have to rely on miracle healings.  The question I have for you is this…Who gave the medical doctors the wisdom to develop the techniques and medicines to treat the condition?  A medical healing or miracle is not something we should “seek” instead of utilizing the medical technology which is available.  However, if medical technology is not able to treat the condition, don’t shut God out of the picture!  If you believe you will NOT receive a miracle – your prayer will be answered just as you believe!  If you believe God is able…then He will!!!

But, I do not want you to think there is a secret “formula” or a “Seven Step Program” which, if you follow, will get you the results you are looking for.  This teaching for 2021 is not designed to do that.  There is no secret ritual or formula; you cannot “trick” God into answering your prayers; you cannot “buy” your answers.

You must operate by FAITH.  Faith in God. Faith in Jesus. Faith in the Word.  Every single morning this year, 2021, I am doing a daily teaching on various aspects of prayer, for 367 straight days. The purpose is to  give you the foundation to present your prayers to God, knowing that He will answer them. Knowing that your Faith is what activates the Word in your life. Knowing that Jesus is the Word of God who was made flesh. Knowing that Jesus is always making intercession for you before God in order to get your prayers answered. 

I want to look now, at receiving answers to your prayer requests to God for the things you want. You can do this by simply believing the scriptures and the prayers you said actually worked. Faith is the key ingredient in every – single – prayer – you – ever – pray!

PERIOD!

Jesus said, in Mark 11 that if YOU had faith as large as a grain of mustard seed…

Let me stop right there. Not too many people today have ever even seen a grain of mustard seed. In Jesus day, it was common knowledge. They were an agricultural society.  

Let’s put this verse in terms most people will understand…

If you had faith as large as one grain of rice – you could speak to any mountain and command it move and it would have to obey you.  ONE GRAIN OF RICE!

The problem, most people don’t believe that! 

Do you?

Do YOU have enough faith that it could be measured against ONE GRAIN OF RICE?

If so – what are you waiting for!  Start taking authority over every situation you encounter and begin CHANGING THINGS! Amen!

We have been talking these past few days about being “tuned into” God. Yesterday, we looked at a couple of examples in the Bible that proves Jesus was not poor, by any means. Amen!  I mean, He had a treasurer, Judas. Poor people do not need treasurers – rich people do.

Then we seen on the night of the last supper, when Jesus told Judas, “Go and do what you need to do,” he got up and left – without raising any eyebrows in the room!  Jesus had just told all of them that “one of you is going to betray me – TONIGHT!”  But when Judas left, nobody suspected a thing! 

They all thought he was going out to give money to the poor or something!  So, obviously, Jesus had instructed him to do that same thing on other occasions, because it did not register to anyone’s minds, sitting in that room, that “something was up.” 

This shows Jesus did not have an issue with “having money.” It is needful in this world that we live in. He only has an issue where “money has YOU.”  Amen! 

Christians have been taught for so long that “money is the root of all evil.”  But the scriptures do not say that. “The love of money is the root of all evil.”  (1 Timothy 6:10).

It costs money to preach the gospel. Just ask your Pastor the next time you see him!  If you are not on the church Board of Directors and just think you can show up and all is well…and you give your little offering thinking “others” will give and that you need the money more than the church does…you are WRONG!

Granted, God will make sure that ministries which are doing God’s work will be taken care of.  But, the responsibility falls to us!  God holds each of us responsible.

Which IS a good thing, if you look at it from the perspective that EVERY PROMISE given to us in the Bible concerning the End Times is about to come to pass! And that includes the rapture and the fact that WE are out of here! Praise God!

But that also means we have A LOT of work to do before then. There are about 6 BILLION people about to go to hell and most do not realize that.  That is where you and I come into the picture. It is up to US to tell THEM about what is about to happen. Amen!

How can we be sure we are listening to God?  How can we KNOW He hears our prayers?  Keep reading – I am about to take you through what I consider to be one of the most profound teachings on getting our prayers answered that you have ever heard.  I believe, with all of my heart and soul, that this teaching will “tune you into” God.  And, we have the promise of God, that if “we know He hears us, then we know we have the petitions we desire of Him.” 

First of all, let me emphasize, that God is not a respecter of persons.  What He does for one person, He will do for every person….we have His promise on that.  So, why doesn’t He answer the prayers of every person…?  It is up to US to get our Faith “tuned into” His Word.  

Despite what you may have been taught by well meaning Christian people, God is FOR you and NOT against you!  So many people for far too long have been taught wrong.  I had heard from as far back as I can remember that God was out to “get you” if you messed up!  That is totally, one hundred percent opposite the truth!

Where money is concerned, Christians have been taught that poverty is God’s way of humbling us.  That people in the ministry have taken a “vow of poverty.”  That if preachers do “get” anything, they have to give it away.  We have been taught that Jesus was so poor, he did not even have a home to live in (Luke 9:58 “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head”).

Jesus came to show us how to be Blessed!  Poverty is under the curse!  Jesus came to fulfill the Abrahamic Covenant.  Abraham was RICH!  Job was RICH!  David was RICH!  Solomon was RICH!  So why would Jesus be poor?  And, if he was so poor, why did he have a treasurer?  A poor man does not need a treasurer – a RICH man does!

Judas must have been giving A LOT of money AWAY!  Because at the last supper, when Jesus told him to “do what you need to do,” Judas got up and left.  The other disciples thought he was going out to “give money to the poor.”  So he must have done that so often that the other disciples did not pay much attention to him leaving.  This was after Jesus told them that one of the disciples was a traitor!  So any unusual actions by any disciple would have raised immediate suspicion. But Judas’ departure was just a natural part of their dinners. It was so common, the other disciples did not think it was odd at all!  

Christians have been taught for so long that “money is the root of all evil.”  But the scriptures do not say that. “The love of money is the root of all evil.”  (1 Timothy 6:10).

I want to pray for you right now that you will begin to “tune into God and His way of doing things” rather than listen to what “man says” you should be doing. If it does not line up with what the Bible says, and the only you will know that is if YOU are in the Word and studying it for yourself, then don’t listen to the devil. The devil is the one trying to convince you otherwise. Amen!

Sometimes, when I’m sharing something the Lord has shown me, either in His Word, or in a dream, etc., I’ll have some pastor or someone smart off and say something like, “I’d be awful careful saying “the Lord said” something. You never know if it’s the Lord or some devil trying to trick you…  When I hear something like that, it takes all of my effort to not grab him by the shirt collar and yell in his face, HAVE FAITH IN GOD, MAN!  

And that is what we will be studying about these next few days. Not only having faith IN God, but learning how to TUNE INTO what God is saying. Amen!

Turn with me to 2 Corinthians chapter one verses 19-20…

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silas[a] and Timothy—was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.” 20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

First of all, let me emphasize, that God is not a respecter of persons.  What He does for one person, He will do for every person….we have His promise on that.  So, why doesn’t He answer the prayers of every person…?  It is up to US to get our Faith “tuned into” His Word.  

Let me explain it using this example.   You have a radio sitting on your desk.  It is turned off.  You hear nothing over the radio.  Does that mean there is NO radio station broadcasting?  NO.  It just means you do not have your radio turned on.  Radio stations are continually broadcasting over the airwaves.  

Now, you turn your radio on.  But all you get is static.  Does this mean there are no radio stations broadcasting?  NO.  It just means you have to “tune” into a station to hear the broadcast.  If you tune into a station that is broadcasting “Rock” and you wanted to hear “Country and Western,” you will be disappointed.  You MUST tune into the station you want to hear.

Do you listen to “Rock” and “Country and Western” at the same time and on the same station?  NO.  Each station has a particular “band width” they are broadcasting on.  You must “tune” into the appropriate “band width” in order to hear what you desire to listen to.

The same thing happens with God.  God is here, talking to us through His Holy Spirit, all of the time.  We just have to “tune in” to what He is saying.  If we leave our spiritual “ears” turned off – we miss what He is telling us to do in order to be Blessed.  If we are listening to the devil or the world instead of listening to God, we miss what He is telling us to do.  We are tuned into the wrong station!

If you’re tuned into God – you are tuned and turned on to God! Amen!  We’ll take it up here tomorrow!

We have been studying about how to effectively use the prayer of agreement. Yesterday, we left off with a look at Mark 11:22-24. As you know, I stand 100% on this scripture. But to help us get a look at the power that is available, let’s look also, as we get started today, at Nehemiah 9:38, which promises us that we can, and have the authority to do so, that is 

Make a sure covenant and we are swearing to it – in agreement…you can do this where your ministry is concerned, where your healing is concerned, where your finances are concerned or where your family is concerned….but YOU have to believe it to receive it…

Now let’s go look at Mark 11:22-24             

“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart - but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

So, once again, I say unto you (sounds like Jesus, doesn’t it?  Well, IT IS. Praise God)… anyway, 

Go to the Bible and find the answer to the problem you are facing.  Then make the decision to believe God for the answer.  Remember, the 1st time you dove off the high diving board as a kid?  I do.  I was scared stiff!  But, you had to make the decision to jump!  And it came down to the point, with people waiting behind you usually…and you not wanting to look embarrassed and climbing all the way back down...bumping into people….that you just make the decision to jump!  

And once the decision was made to do it…you just go for it!  Then you are committed!  Amen!  It works the same way…when you made the decision to get born again!  I did the same thing when I made the decision to enter the ministry and again when I made the decision to enter full time ministry...I’m just going for it!  Amen!

2 Corinthians 10:5 says to bring every thought into the obedience of Christ.  It will come to pass – yes – amen!  Think on these things, Philippians 4:6-9 says.  When you do these things…when your mind will try to turn your heart away from God’s Word and God’s promises…you have to make the decision to go back to the Word again and read it….make yourself do it…and then make the decision “if that is what God’s Word says…then that is the way it is going to be…amen!  As far as I am concerned…this is already done, in Jesus name…amen!”

Then, when people come up and ask you, “how ya’ doing brother?”  You can speak the  problem – and loose the entire ball of wax right there….or you can speak the answer…you can just say, “We are praising God for the victory!”   They will look at you real funny…they know what you are going through…but you can say, “my wife and I – or my husband and I – or my family and I – put ourselves into agreement that God’s Word is true and we are just praising God because He will take care of this situation!” 

When you do that – you are standing in agreement with each other and in agreement with the Word of God – which is Jesus (the Word made flesh, amen!)…Now you are in Faith…you are walking in Faith…you are standing in Faith…you are confessing in Faith….you are maintaining Mark 11:22 “have Faith in God!”….and the answer is coming!  You are in agreement with Jesus – and His promises ALWAYS COME TO PASS!            

Mark 11:22 says, “Have Faith in God!”   That is what YOU need to rely on totally with whatever prayer request you are presenting before God.  In order to trust totally on Him to answer your prayers….you must first have a relationship with Him…and you get that through His Son – JESUS.  

I want to pray with you right now…if I were there with you…I would take you by the hands and look into your eyes right now…and ask you…are we in agreement that God’s Word is the final authority in this situation?  If you he hawed around…I would tell you – GET INTO THE WORD AND BELIEVE IT…  and when you were finally ready to say, “YES – THE WORD WILL WORK” then I would say, ok…let’s pray!

We have been studying how Christians in the United States, and, for that matter, in all nations of the world, have allowed satanic influences to sneak into our government and how you can put a stop to it. Not only will this work for your own prayers, but it will for loved ones you are praying for, too.

Go to Matthew 18:18-19

You have to realize we are on the earth right now…so this prayer applies to us.  Jesus has already established it – and said if you resist the devil – he will flee from you (because you are using the Word).  Then it says “AGAIN” I SAY UNTO YOU…. If 2 or more of you shall agree…that word agree means to “harmonize” to create a “symphony.”  A symphony takes several individual instruments and uses them in harmony to create a unique sound that is impossible to create individually.  Have you ever been to a concert and heard the instruments tuning up…it sounds horrible!  But, when the conductor takes his place and taps on the podium – all attention is on him.  And when he lifts his hands and begins to direct the individual instruments – it harmonizes them and it is beautiful to behold and to listen to…amen!

There is an area of prayer that is more powerful than any one single Christian or ministry can do by their self.  That is why the devil tries so hard to bring DISHARMONY of DISCORD into churches and families…amen!  

Nehiemiah 9:38 says we make a sure covenant and we are swearing to it – in agreement…you can do this where your ministry is concerned, where your healing is concerned, where your finances are concerned or where your family is concerned….but YOU have to believe it to receive it…

Mark 11:22-24

We have been studying how Christians in the United States, and, for that matter, in all nations of the world, have allowed satanic influences to sneak into our government. 

What I want to do today, is let’s go back to our foundation scripture in Ephesians 6:12-18.  I keep emphasizing, we do not pray against people. I don’t care if the person is being the cruelest SOB you’ve ever dealt with. It is the demon that is influencing him that is the issue. Not him. He may have given the demon access. But if you want to get mad at someone – get mad at the devil. Use your authority, in the Name of Jesus, and bind that demon. Bind him up tight! Amen! 

We DO NOT pray against people.  We pray against the devil who is influencing the people…amen!  When someone comes against you, in one way or another…it is easy to get offended and start to pray like –“God, make brother so and so stop this…”  but you should be binding the devil who is influencing brother so and so…and praising God for the victory in your behalf.  Pray Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon formed against me shall prosper and every tongue that comes against me shall be condemned.”  Remember, we do not pray against people.  Two of Jesus disciples (James and John – the Son’s of Thunder) got upset with a group of people and asked Jesus “you want us to pray down fire against them?”  and Jesus rebuked them and said, “You don’t know of what spirit you are.”  

If  you keep trying to come against God’s people…you keep on keeping on…and keeping on and keeping on….eventually, God is going to have to put a stop to you because you are hindering His work in their lives….instead of trying to get them saved you are trying to send them to hell…and He does not want them to go to hell…but if  you keep praying against them instead of praying for them…God will have to deal with YOUR attitude!  Amen!

Jesus takes it personally if you try to come against His people…think about the Apostle Paul!  Jesus said to him, “why do you keep persecuting ME?”  amen!

Ephesians 6:17-18

Take the Word of God – praying!  Don’t try to pray without the Word of God.  We are to pray God’s Word over the situation.  We are praying against the devil when we lift up the Word of God in a situation….Every prayer should contain the Word of God!  Amen!

Every prayer should be based on scriptures relevant to the prayer being made. What I mean by this is this. If you are praying for healing, for you or a loved one, etc., you – YOU – need to go and look up healing scriptures. YOU need to write them down. YOU need to study them. YOU need to understand them. YOU need to do this. Not the other person.  It works a lot better and a lot faster if the other person is as motivated about this as  you are – through what? The “power of agreement.” 

Folks, this is not rocket science. We’ve been studying “How to Effectively Use the Power of Agreement” and the last week or so it was the “Power of Agreement and Binding and Loosing.” Amen!  This is all relevant to the world we live in right now.

So YOU need to have these scriptures as the basis for every single prayer you make. Healing scriptures if healing; blessing scriptures if blessings; prosperity scriptures for finances, etc. 

I’m going to leave you with this thought, as we are starting to get long again today.  That thought is this:  THE WORD OF GOD WORKS.  Period. If you get to the point where you believe that, as Jesus taught, “Nothing will be impossible for you.” Amen!

We have been studying how Christians in the United States, and, for that matter, in all nations of the world, have allowed satanic influences to sneak into our government...and now we are suffering and wondering “why is this happening?”….well, I’ll  tell you why!  

Because you let the devil run the government!  You elected ungodly people who publicly advocate ungodly, unbiblical policies and you not only elected them, you continue to support them! Instead of supporting Godly virtues, you side with the devil and his like with all of these ungodly things under the guise of “it’s their choice.”  Yes, it is their choice, but it’s not MY choice. So why do I have to bow before Baal just because you do? 

You want to know what you should do? Kick devil out, kick those ungodly politicians out and get some Godly people in there…and things will start to get better…but when you just vote your pocket book or what somebody can do FOR YOU instead of what they can do to further the Kingdom of God in this nation…then you are part of the problem and not part of the solution…and God can raise up someone else to fulfill His plan if you refuse…but for you and your family – if you refuse to obey God’s Will – for you - it will be to your damnation…amen! So be it.  Have fun in hell, for the Bible is very clear, that’s where YOU and your like will end up.

And I can prove it to you biblically…

We have studied this concept out Biblically several times over…example after example in the Old Testament…These demons even had one fella convinced he was a god!  The prophet came and told him – “you’re not a god…you’re a man…then God told the prophet to prophesy against the KING in that nation…and he was not talking about the man…he was talking to the demon over that nation that was influencing the man…amen!  Jesus has given us His power and His name to tear that stuff down…but the Christians in this nation are afraid to use His Name and Power because “it might offend some people that do not believe like we do!”  Give me a break…the ONLY thing and the ONLY chance this nation has of coming out of this global mess IS when believers stand up and don’t care and don’t give a flying flip about what other people think!  Are you serving MAN or GOD!?  

Now, the prayer of agreement is the fact when 2 or 3 of us believers come together and agree on this earth…when we get together in agreement that what we are asking for is the outcome desired…we become a three fold cord that is not quickly broken!  Amen!  We are joined together in strength…we are joined together in prayer – according to His Word…and we establish spiritual authority and spiritual law in the situation we are believing for…and it MUST come to pass – we have God’s Word on it!  And there is absolutely nothing the devil can do to stop it!  

Except get YOU to break the power of your agreement….with words of doubt and unbelief.  You break the power by believing the lies which the devil begins to try and plant in your mind (it’s not going to work this time…)….  When you listen to the devil and begin to do what he says or say what he says….it is the same thing that happened to Adam in the Garden of Eden….it steals  your joy, it steals your blessing. It steals your soul… Amen!

We are studying about Prayer – different kinds of prayer…nobody on this earth has ever – ever touched the absolute total power that is available to them through prayer…not in their wildest imagination of what God  has given to us through the power of prayer.  Nobody has ever realized the magnificence of what God has available for us through prayer…Nobody except Jesus has ever lived in constant contact with the Father and walked through this earth knowing what to do in every circumstance.

We just go bumbling through life…acting so spiritual – yes amen…- I pray 3 times a month and twice on my birthday…amen…here we are…just bee bopping around…why?  When we ought to be walking continually in the magnificence of God…Well, we are going FOR IT…amen!  That is what these broadcasts are about…that is what this study is about…amen!

Again, Go to our foundation scripture – Ephesians 6:10-18  (before we get through – you are going to KNOW this scripture, inside and out!  Amen)!

Be Strong in the Lord and in the Power of HIS might!  Amen!  Put on the whole armor of God – we covered that in detail during the last broadcast.

Look at Eph 2:2           Prince of the Power of the Air…that is the devil.  We covered that in depth also…  We discovered there are three different types of Heaven talked about in the Bible….You have the Heaven where God’s Throne is….you have the stellar heaven – outer space…and you have the heaven surrounding the earth…which is the atmosphere…and we discovered that is where the devil is operating at…he is limited to that heaven…amen!

We are not in battle against other men or other people.  We are in battle against the devils and demons that are controlling other people….actually, we are not in battle against them either…for the battle was the Lord’s and the Victory is ours – amen!  We tend to give the devil too much credit.  The only power he has is the power which men give to him.  You are not going into battle against him…Jesus already did that…Jesus already defeated him – real good!  Amen!  You are not going into battle to try and win the war!  Jesus did that Himself….you are the mop up crew….you are the occupying force!  Your job is to go and search out where the devil is trying to erect strong holds and use your God given authority to tear them down!  Amen!  We need to make sure he does not erect these strong  holds in our life, our family’s life our finances, our city – our government!  Amen!  We are the ones who are to make sure he does not occupy the territory! 

We are going to go back now…and look at the prayer of agreement…you remember, we just briefly covered this in the beginning…but I told you then, we needed to come back to it once we had a good foundation laid…well, this is the day – amen!

We just looked at Binding and Loosing…and I said then we would need to return and look at the prayer of agreement because it was related to the prayer of binding and loosing.  So let’s go ahead and do this again, right now.

We need to exert the power and authority of Jesus as we find, bind and cast down satanic strongholds and wicked spirits…otherwise, they will try to exert their influence over your mind, your family, etc.  We can see that in our governmental systems today….we have allowed these satanic influences to sneek into our government..and now we are suffering and wondering “why”….well, I’ll  tell you why!  Because you let the devil run the government dummy!  Kick him out and get some Godly people in there…and things will start to get better…but when you just vote your pocket book or what somebody can do FOR YOU instead of what they can do to further the Kingdom of God in this nation…then you are part of the problem not part of the solution…and God can raise up someone else to fulfill His plan if you refuse…but for you and your family – if you refuse to obey God’s Will – for you it will be to your damnation…amen!
