https://crimethinc.com/festivalsofresistance
We invite you to join in organizing festivals of resistance on the weekend of January 18, immediately before Donald Trump takes office.
By organizing ahead of Trump’s inauguration, we can seize the initiative and set our own timeline rather than being caught flat-footed and forced to react. We need to welcome new participants into these struggles and foster a revolutionary perspective that can orient us through the challenges ahead.

Just in time for the COP29 summit, where a group of self-congratulatory world leaders will meet in Baku, Azerbaijan for photo-ops, catered meals, and of course discussion of climate goals that they don’t intend to meet, subMedia, in collaboration with Peter Gelderloos, is pleased to release part one of a three part series: It’s Revolution or Death.
The first installment of the series takes a look at the push for green capitalism, and questions the common-sense assumptions of its cheerleaders. Bolstered by unwavering, uncritical support from NGO’s, energy corporations portray themselves as cutting edge innovators in green energy technology while hedging their bets and maintaining diversified portfolios – packed with fossil fuel investments.
The coming two installments will discuss Indigenous and anarchist struggles for land and autonomy and how local communities can get organized to build resiliency in the face of worsening climate catastrophe.
The effects of runaway climate change are already here. If the past 50 years of gas-lighting have made one thing abundantly clear, it's that the politicians and entrepreneurs leading the charge for green energy will never prioritize the interests of life on earth in their pursuit of profits. So what are we going to do about it?

Despite the sustained efforts of Western media and elected officials, the world sees Israel for what is: an apartheid settler state, committing genocide against the Palestinian people. There is no debate, no question, and nothing complicated about it. It’s genocide. And every politician and public figure that supports it is culpable // this song is for the people of Gaza, West Bank and East Jerusalem, struggling to survive the 2nd Nakba, and one of the most brutal military campaigns in modern history… and for the peeps worldwide facing repression, censure and state violence in the fight for a free Palestine // From the River to the Sea, PALESTINE WILL BE FREE 🇵🇸🖤

The waters are receding in Porto Alegre and the massive undertaking of cleaning the mess left behind by the floods has begun. Some of our comrades have been able to return to their squats and begin assessing the damage.
Donations have already been used to buy protective gear; like goggles, gloves and rubber boots, to protect those cleaning up the wreckage from diseases often associated with floodwaters like leptospirosis.
Comrades have also purchased a pressure washer to share freely with those within their communities and power inverters to help the indigenous Mbya Guarani community, who are reclaiming their lands in the south of Porto Alegre, rebuild their solar power system. As we take stock of the extensive damage, we have decided to raise our fundraising goal to $7500 CAD.
We’d like to say our special thanks to those who have already donated, shared and showed solidarity. Your donations have already made a significant effect for the Anarchist and Indigenous communities in the lands in southern so-called Brazil.
See the fundraiser at: https://www.gofundme.com/f/espaco-mutual-aid
We are so grateful to everyone who donated so far and would like to send our most sincere THANK YOU!
If you haven't yet, there's till time to share or donate to our GoFundMe here:
While the rains have stopped for now, the Jacuí river has still overflowed its banks and the floodwaters have yet to recede. Many of Porto Alegre’s water treatment plants remain completely submerged with tapwater only accesible in the far southern portion of the city.
For the sake of transparency; the subMedia collective is raising these funds which we will send to our comrade in Porto Alegre who is involved with the Esp(a)ço community center.
Again, we want to thank everyone who donated and shared this fundraiser within their circles, it means the world to us.

Historic flooding has hit the south of so-called Brazil.
Fueled by the effects of runaway climate change and exacerbated by government inaction and incompetence, these floods have submerged entire cities in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and many neighborhoods of its capital, Porto Alegre. They have wiped away entire communities, and killed dozens of people.
The anarchist social center in Porto Alegre, Esp(a)ço, has been set up as a hub to receive donations of supplies, and to get them to those in need. They need our help.
Please make a donation at https://gofundme.com/Espaco-Mutual-Aid
All funds raised will go towards local mutual aid efforts, to support affected Indigenous and quilombo communities, and to repair anarchist spaces impacted by the floods.
