There are several resources like the Qualcomm: The Inventor's Patent Academy (TIPA).

Be aware that getting a patent on your own is not Economical and takes a lot of know how.

*If you are employed, your patents don't belong to you.

*Once you leave your employee, those patents stay with that employer.

*Read the fine print in your employment contract regarding patents before you venture in getting a patent.
