From the moment we are born we’ve been encouraging to learn and grow up. This is the right thing to expect. However there some childlike characteristics that can be beneficial to us Christians. Who said we can’t learn anything from children. The truth is, if we pay attention we can learn a lot from kids. Just their innocence alone is something that we can learn from. In this episode I’m going to of over some things children do in the natural and share how we can grow spiritual by doing something similar to it.

The word discernment means “the ability to judge well.” In a Christian context it means “obtaining spiritual guidance and understanding.”  With all the fake news and people playing broken telephone with important information we need to have discernment that will allow us to sift through the bad information and find what is true in order to make well informed decisions. Not everyone out there is telling the truth. Their motives of their heart could be to deceive you. This is why we need the Holy Spirits help in order to have discernment and use it in our daily lives. This episode is how you do that.

Habakkuk 2:2-3 says the following:

“And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay”

We need to have some vision or direction for every area of our lives. We have to want to achieve something or strive for something. If you don’t have a vision for your life you will allow your circumstances dictate where you go in life. It’s also a good practice to write this vision or plan down and I’ve found that it’s will help you to achieve it when it’s written down. In this episode, I’m going to show you from the bible times when people had a vision for something and how it impacted their decisions and results.

It’s better you do this for yourself rather than God or someone else humble you. Humbling yourself doesn’t mean to think of yourself a low or worthless but to acknowledge that you are not solely responsible for the success that you have in your life. And since you are not responsible for your own success you shouldn’t think of yourself as better than anyone else. Being humble is also marked by not thinking of yourself as the most important person around. As Christians we can remember that there are much blessings that come with humility.

From time to time we all need to remember the verses and promises from the Bible to encourage ourselves in the Lord. We see in 1 Sam 30:6 that David had to encourage himself in the Lord and this is something that we need to do regularly. We need to remember the verses and promises that God has given us in his word and confess them to speak to the situation and to the devil about the promises that God ordained for us to walk in. Doing this will cause us not to be overwhelmed by the situations that we face. Let’s get into this episode.

1 Peter 5:7 says that we can cast all our anxieties on him because we cares for us. I had to remind myself of this over and over recently as I started to think something was hopeless. But with God there is always hope. I turned my care over to God and used that emotion to cry out to God with my whole heart. There are a lot of examples of people pouring out their heart and crying out to God for help. When it’s all but hopeless, they cried out and God answered their request. We have to believe that as we cry out to God that he will answer our request as well. Let me share some examples from the Bible of this to build up your faith.

It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been a Christian for. Your relationship with God is more important than the religious things that you do. Even if those religious activities are directly connected to your church ministry. We don’t want to be so caught up in doing things for God that we forget to keep a fresh relationship with God for ourselves. And I have to confess here. I had to consider myself and this podcast. For a moment of time maybe for some weeks, I was reading my Bible regularly but everything I was reading was for the sake of the podcast and not for strengthening my personal relationship with God. I got in a religious habit of doing work without cultivating a relationship with God. The Holy Spirit spoke to me on that and I changed my behaviour and schedule to spend quality time with God again. In this episode I’m going to go over some examples from the Bible that highlight relationship over religion.
