One of the best thing’s I’ve ever done to improve my writing was to stop pantsing it. A couple of years ago, I learned about the Hero’s Journey as a plotting method. I was curious, so I dug in and learned all I could. I wasn’t sure it would work for suspense novels, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn it worked very well. Not only did I begin writing faster and more efficiently, but my stories got better and better, and I found I could avoid that dreaded Writer’s Block because I already had a map and outline for how my story would end. I am so thrilled with how much plotting has improved my craft, I just had to share this method with all of you.
In this episode, you will:
- Learn exactly what is the Hero’s Journey
- Learn whether the Hero’s Journey is right for your book
- Learn the 12 steps on the Hero’s Journey
- Learn how to implement this plotting method in your own novel
