  • 119. Tell Them Your Story

We have stories to tell. Lots of stories. And our generation is responsible to pass along those stories to our grandchildren. This episode gives guidelines and even creative ways to share your story with the younger ones. It's imperative that they know where they came from and it's a healthy thing for children to know the back stories of days gone by.

Joel 1:3 "Tell your children about it in the years to come, and let your children tell their children. Pass the story down from generation to generation."

There's no need to wait until a special day or event to amaze and entertain grandchildren with stories of not only your past, but of their past, too. Children of all ages are fascinated by family history. As they should.

    Tell them your story.

  • 118. Deanna Shrodes' Miraculous Story

Deanna Shrodes, first of all, is my friend. But she has a list of major accomplishments - a singer, an author, and completing her Master in Leadership and Doctorate in Ministry from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. She serves in ministry alongside her husband of 35 years, Larry, who pastors Celebration Church in Tampa. She also is director of Women's Ministries for the Peninsular Florida District of the AG, where she leads teams supporting women's ministry in churches, plus special events.

A decade ago, Deanna prayed specifically for the Holy Spirit to reveal the name of her biological father. During several prayer times, she strongly sensed God telling her the name: "Gus."

  • 117. Summer's End

August is never long enough for me.. I LOVE the last month of summer SO much. But soon it will be over and then we're on to Fall. What are the "fruits" of summer? Well, they're very synonomous with the fruits of the Spirit too. Let's never be without them.

Sue Duffield, your host here, will never let up on how important special summer days are in our seasonal journey of life. And those special days may also include the difficult ones too. I will always say, "Summer, you are my favorite hello and my hardest goodbye."

"Summer's End" by Sue, has all the passion and strength to muster the faith to keep going and welcome a new season. "The seasons may change, but our good and loving Father in Heaven does not."

  • 116. Super Sue!

Being a super woman is being supernatural according to the reality in Christ. All that we become through him by putting ON the good stuff, God has already provided through the knowledge of His LIVING Word.

Why it takes most of us such a long time to realize that we are "super" in the kingdom of God, I don't know. But instead of asking God for super human strength to stay ALIVE in the toughest of times, ask for God-like trust and super-sized faith to THRIVE!

This episode discusses three unknowns in scripture - Aksah, Sheerah and Serah (Serach). Super women, for sure. And also, the story of Anne Beatty, my grandmother.

  • 115. Now Hiring

The Suebiquitous Podcast journey has some twists, turns and questions on this episode. If it seems you've never been qualified for the work you've attempted to do but for some reason God gives you the ability to somehow figure it out, then you'll definitely relate to this content for sure.

What if God was hiring? Sue Duffield wants to know... What if God hung a sign in the heavenlies right now that says, "NOW HIRING!" What would that look like to you? Would any of us be qualified? Well, if there was ever a job description in the kingdom of God, the apostle Paul would rank right up there ready to fulfill that extreme position of working FOR Jesus.. Philippians 1:6 "And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."

  • 114. What If?

This short, bonus episode, "What If?", gives hope that "even if" might be a better choice of words when it comes to faith, trust and a whole lot of expectation of "things hoped for." This is an honest and vulnerable devo of sorts, that Sue Duffield encountered and lived as recent as this week.

God is enough; He is sufficient for all our needs. But this episodic reminder is a spin of major proportion, showing how in "one single second" everything could, can and will change. It's a serious look at what happens when we jump the gun, expecting the worst, and realizing later that as a parent, we can automatically think the worst. Sue shares one of her biggest turnarounds of emotion - experienced in one single second!

So maybe it's better stated, "EVEN THEN, (instead of "What If?) I WILL be happy with the Lord. I will find joy in God who saves me." (Habakkuk 3: 17-18)

  • 113. Smell-a-vision

What would happen if we could actually "smell" television shows, cooking shows, podcasts, etc.? Will that happen some day? Who knows! But the Duffields DO know this - "smell-a-vision" has been happening for years, and it's not always good! This episode (humorous as it is) takes a good look at how not to NOT "stink it up" as a Christian. Let's be the fragrance of Christ, and not the stench of death. Hope you laugh; and hope you think twice before you spread your odiferous life around!

  • 111. The Lisa Daggs Story

Sue Duffield sits down with Christian Country artist, LIsa Daggs, for a personal and reflective conversation about how she struggled through the challenges and temptations of an entertainer's lifestyle. She worked to rediscover the inner peace she had lost. "I was full of self-will, running my own show, and believing I knew what was best for my life," she recalls. Lisa forced her way through the process of overcoming the severe consequences caused by her previous lifestyle, but then turned her life over to the complete care of God, trusting Him for strength and guidance.

Sue's gem of a new friend, Lisa, courageously shares her own story of loss, redemption, and hope - to inspire everyone she meets. As a vocal performance artist Lisa has been honored with numerous awards including The Gospel Voice Diamond Award for Country Artist of the Year (other nominees included Charlie Daniels, Ricky Skaggs, Marty Raybon and Lee Ann Rimes), CCMA's Entertainer of the Year and New Artist of the Year, and as "the brightest newcomer to the scene" by the Christian Country Research Bulletin. She is also a Gaither Homecoming Artist, and has traveled the world sharing her music and story.
