There are many different opinions or interpretations about the life of Christ and where He stands as a historical figure. Some groups of people say He was a wise teacher, others say a mere prophet, while others say He was one of but many gods and is no greater than the others. Even the majority of Jewish people were confused about the role of their Messiah that was spoken of in Scripture. In today's message Pastor Terry makes it very clear that the role of Christ was to die on the behalf of man's sin, that whosoever believes in Him might be made righteous in the sight of God.

In the Gospel of Luke we're given a metaphor in regards to the cost of discipleship teaching us that we should count the costs beforehand, lest we underestimate the total sum. When we put our faith in Christ we become citizens of a Kingdom that's not of this world, and are called to a discipleship that requires leaving behind the things of this world.
