In this episode, we journey through Romans 11:13–24, where the Apostle Paul reveals a powerful truth about our identity in Christ using two key images: first fruits and olive branches.
Paul begins with the imagery of first fruit and dough (Romans 11:16), drawing from Numbers 15, where Israel offered the first portion of their dough to the Lord. When the first portion was consecrated, the entire batch was considered holy. Paul is saying:
Then Paul transitions to the image of the olive tree, Israel as the cultivated tree, and Gentiles as wild branches grafted in by grace. This is both an invitation and a warning:
✅ Invitation: We are included in God’s covenant family, not by birthright or behavior, but by faith alone.
⚠️ Warning: Do not boast or become arrogant. The branches do not support the root, the ROOT (Jesus) supports us.
Paul challenges us to examine what we are truly rooted in. If God did not spare the natural branches for their unbelief, why would we assume He would overlook pride or unbelief in us?
But even in His warning, Paul reminds us of God’s kindness and mercy:
He is kind to those who continue in faith,
But severe toward persistent unbelief.
So how do we remain rooted? Paul’s answer connects beautifully to John 15:4-5, where Jesus says:
Jesus doesn’t command us to produce fruit. He calls us to ABIDE. The fruit is the reward, abiding is our responsibility.
In this episode, we discuss:
✔ What it really means to be “holy” and why it’s more about identity than perfection
✔ The danger of spiritual arrogance when we forget our source
✔ How grace grafts us in, but only faith keeps us rooted
✔ Why abiding, not striving, is the key to lasting fruitfulness
Whether you’ve been walking with God for years or feel like a wild branch barely han
going on, this message is an invitation to stay rooted, stay humble, and stay connected to the Root.
Listen now and be strengthened in your faith!
If the root is holy, everything connected to it becomes holy.“ Consider the goodness and severity of God…” (Romans 11:22)“Abide in Me… for without Me, you can do nothing.”

What happens when God gets hold of a person’s heart? Everything changes. In this week’s message, Pastor Jamie and Pastor Tommy unpack Romans 10:6-13 and reminds us that salvation isn’t about zeal, works, or religious effort, it’s about faith in Jesus Christ alone.

This episode also wrestles with the brokenness in our world, the tragedies, violence, and unrest we’ve seen in recent weeks, and points us back to the heart of the issue: humanity doesn’t need more rules, it needs redemption.
In this episode, you’ll hear about:
Why zeal and good works can’t save you, only Jesus can.
How God transforms a heart and gives us a new identity.
Why evil originates within, and why only Jesus can heal it.
God’s relentless pursuit of the lost, because every soul matters.
The role of the church as God’s plan for hope and unity in the world.

This week on the Compassion Podcast, Pastor Jamie and Pastor Tommy open up Romans 9 with a conversation that will stir your soul and challenge your heart.
Paul writes in Romans 9 with tears in his eyes, grieving deeply for Israel, a people blessed with the covenants, the promises, and the glory of God, yet so many missed that Jesus is the Messiah. His heart was shattered for those who rejected Christ.
Does our heart break for people the way Paul’s did? When we see someone struggling with Christ, is our first instinct compassion or superiority? Paul teaches us that the tone of our theology must be love. He shows us that rebellion and disobedience don’t just break rules, they break the very heart of God.
Isaiah 63:10 says, “They rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit,” and Psalm 78:40 reminds us that Israel “grieved Him in the desert.” Our rebellion wounds Him not because He is distant, but because He is a Father, and the rebellious heart of children brings grief to a parent more than anger. To grieve the Spirit is to sadden the very One who seals us for redemption (Ephesians 4:30).
Pastor Jamie and Pastor Tommy unpack:
What it means to grieve the Spirit with our words, attitudes, and actions.
Why God’s promises never fail, even when His people do.
How belonging to God has never been about pedigree, family, or performance, it has always been about His promise, received by faith in Christ.
Why having a “religious background” is not the same as being born again.
How Paul’s heart for Israel models how we should ache for our neighbors who don’t know Jesus.
They remind us: Everyone has a story, but all need Jesus. It’s like carrying a winning lottery ticket in your pocket but never cashing it in, you may hold the promise, but without Christ you’re missing the reward.
The prayer is simple yet powerful: “Lord, break our hearts for what breaks Yours. Help us to weep for the lost, pray with urgency, and witness with boldness, until every story finds its fulfillment in You.”

Here, to talk about this Weekends Message is Pastor Tommy Hodges and Casey Marler. This week, Pastor Jamie unpacked Romans 7:15-25, where the Apostle Paul gives voice to a struggle that we all know too well - the war within. Paul reveals the tension between our desire to follow God and the reality of the sin nature that dwells in us.
This passage isn’t just a picture of the struggle - it’s a roadmap. It shows us that the law reveals our sin, but only Jesus Christ brings victory. Though the flesh pulls us one way, the Spirit empowers us to walk in freedom.
And while the Word was powerful, God wasn’t finished there. We witnessed an outbreak of baptisms - second, third, and even fourth services saw people step into the water to declare new life in Christ. 🙌Lives were changed, and the Spirit was moving in undeniable ways.
Now, we’re heading into Encounter Sunday with great expectation. We’re believing for an outpouring of His presence, signs, miracles, and wonders… healings, breakthrough, and more baptisms. This is more than a service; it’s a moment to encounter Jesus like never before.
Tune in to be stirred, challenged, and encouraged, and then join us this Sunday to see what God will do next.

In this powerful episode, Pastor Jamie and Tommy dive deep into Romans 6 and explore what it truly means to be free from sin through Christ. Baptism is more than a symbol, it represents our total separation from sin’s power and our call to walk in newness of life.
We unpack the victory we have in Jesus: our old self was crucified with Him, sin no longer has dominion over us, and we are no longer slaves to sin. Yet, many still live as if they are bound, struggling with what Christ has already set them free from.
What does it mean to live holy in a world full of temptation? How do we choose growth over control? How does God’s grace empower us to overcome sin, not excuse it?
Join us as we challenge you to make a daily decision: Will you walk in sin, or will you live a holy life marked by righteousness? It’s time for the funeral of the old self and to embrace the new life God offers through faith in Jesus.
If you’re ready to break free and live the life God designed for you, this episode is for you.

Can God really use pressure, pain, and trials for your good?
In this week’s podcast episode, Pastors Jamie and Tommy dive into Romans 5:1-5 to unpack one of the most challenging and powerful truths of the Christian walk: God refines us through pressure.
Paul flips the script by saying we should “glory in tribulations” - not because we enjoy pain, but because God is using it as a tool to shape us.
From pressure to perseverance.
From perseverance to character.
From character to unshakable hope.
In this episode:
Why suffering isn’t a setback, it’s a setup for transformation
How God uses pressure the same way nature transforms coal into diamonds
What it means to trust the Potter while being shaped
Why your character matters more than your comfort
Featuring powerful insights from:
Romans 5:1-5, James 1:2-3, Hebrews 6:19, Romans 15:13

Podcast Episode: It’s a Journey - The Faith of Abraham
Scripture Focus: Romans 4:13–25
Tommy Hodges, and Casey Marler
Faith isn’t a one-time decision- it’s a lifelong journey.
In this powerful episode, Pastors Jamie Grisham, Tommy Hodges, and Casey Marler come together for a deep and practical conversation on what it really means to walk by faith. Using the life of Abraham in Romans 4, they unpack five essential stages of the faith journey—reminding us that the same God who called Abraham is still calling us today.
Abraham’s story is more than ancient history—it’s a blueprint for our own walk with God. Through honest dialogue and biblical teaching, our pastors will guide you through:
Faith Begins with a Promise
God’s promise to Abraham wasn’t based on perfection, but on relationship. Faith starts when we hear and trust what God says—even before we see it.
Faith is Rooted in Belief
Abraham believed God before his circumstances changed. Our pastors explore how real faith starts in the heart, rooted in trust, not evidence.
Faith is Sustained Through Hope
Even when hope seemed lost, Abraham held on. This conversation will encourage you to keep believing even in seasons of waiting, delay, or silence.
Faith is Proven Through Obedience
Faith that doesn’t move us isn’t real faith. Abraham’s obedience—especially in his hardest moment—proved the authenticity of what he believed.
Faith is Rewarded in Righteousness
God counted Abraham as righteous because of his faith. That same righteousness is available to us through Jesus, not by works, but by grace.
Whether you’re just starting out, stuck in the middle, or facing a step of radical obedience—this episode is for you. It’s raw. It’s real. It’s rooted in the Word.
Key Takeaways:
Faith grows in stages, not in a straight line
God is still working even when we can’t see it
Hope is essential in the waiting
Obedience is evidence, not a requirement for love
Righteousness is received, not achieved
Are you in a season where your faith is being tested? Are you ready to take your next step with God? Our pastors close with a powerful invitation to trust God again—to step into the journey and believe that He is able to fulfill what He has promised.
This is more than a message—it’s a moment of encounter.
