This week, we will unpack two stories in Mark's Gospel: the healing of a leper and the healing of a paralytic. In these two stories, we will witness faith's call to embrace three things: the power of Jesus and the heart of Jesus, the gift of forgiveness and family, and the divine identity of Jesus.

Who is this who's teaching with such authority? In Mark 1:21-39, we see that this person is Jesus, and with his arrival, he brings the reign of God, invades the kingdom of darkness, and sets people free from the bondage of satan, sin, and death. He not only proclaimed the kingdom of God, but also demonstrated it with real power. No matter what you're going through in your life, never forget that Jesus has authority over it.

In Mark 1:14-20, Jesus uses these words to call Peter, Andrew, James, and John to Himself. Join us this Sunday as we explore this text and see that the call to “Follow Me” is so much more than an invitation. It is a command that affirms Jesus as Lord, calls us to a deeper intimacy with Him, and calls us to respond in a way that is reflected by the response of the disciples in this passage.

This week we begin our series on discipleship through the Gospel of Mark. This Gospel bursts out of the gates with the main point of the whole Gospel: Jesus is the Son of God. We will hear four confessions of faith: (1) the author, (2) the prophets, (3) the forerunner, and (4) the Father. All four voices, in unison, declare that Jesus is the Son of God. Will we add our voice and declare allegiance to Jesus? Let's join our voices together.

This week, we begin a new series through the Gospel of Mark entitled: Follow Me. The first sermon that will introduce the series actually comes from the book of Revelation. There is an urgent note that will be struck at the outset of this series: Jesus is knocking at the door of the church and is asking to be restored to his rightful place as Lord.
