Western Australia is set to have the toughest knife laws in the country allowing police to scan people in any public place even if they're not suspected of carrying a weapon. The approach is modelled on 'Jack's Law' in Queensland which is named after Jack Beasley who was fatally stabbed in 2019 on the Gold Coast.

Hundreds of Indonesian fishing vessels have been caught illegally entering Australian waters with Border Force command saying there's been a surge in boats over the last six months. Authorities are working with the Indonesian Navy to return the pirates straight back home. They're also destroying the illegal fishing boats to send a message that Australia's marine parks are not to be plundered.
