Sunset Grooves Edit 005

**********************

Our fifth "Free Edit of The Month" is more of an original track rather than edit, however Bernu feature a vocalist friend of his who sampled some of the lyrics from John Lee Hooker's track I'm in the Mood.

Bringing that blues, an electro touch and those deep smooth vocals all together to provide us a finished cocktail that will get us grooving straight from the afterwork!

Good morning Stephan 😊

➢Tell us what song puts you in a good mood when you wake up in the morning?

Good morning dear all! I like it smooooth and lazy in the morning. It can be some TripHop sounds from my favourite musicians Boozoo Bajou or some dreamy downtempo tunes. I don't have a favourite musician in our genre, I like every one of you <3 <3

➢How did you come about your DJ alias Lockige Ostsee?

Oh, hehe :D Years ago I had some more hair on my head and it´s getting curly with the length over 5cm. And I was born, raised and still live at the Baltic sea. It´s hard to find a perfect name, either a DJ name or a track name, isn´t it? 😊 😊

➢ Where would be the best place to take us to enjoy a sunset in Rostock?

I think, one of the best places is the Rostock city harbour, where the mixtape-picture was made (by my lovely friend @ener-music ). But another nice spot is the beach in Rostock-Warnemünde, but there are too many people in my opinion :P

➢ How has the music scene developed in Rostock over the last few years and could you recommend the listeners an event that you love or you might organize with your collective Faultierdisko?

The people in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern always say “Everything comes 100 year later in M-V” – like the music scene too :D Downtempo has just a little crowd in Rostock and the region. Even though there are many many beautiful musicians in MV. Think about Steffen Kirchhof, M.Rux, Klangstrom, Commander Love, Luett Matten, just to call some of them. A few of them do not live here anymore, but they all started here 😊

➢ Clubs and Festivals have started re-opening, where or what was the first event you attended?

My first gig after this corona time was at the beach in my new home area in Zingst. But my slothbrother Stelzenläufer and I will play at the beautiful 3000 Grad Festival next week. We can´t wait for it!!! 😊

➢ Lastly, regarding this mix you have done for us, can you tell us a little bit of your thought process behind choosing the tracks you chose?

Ohyeah! Let us start smooth and lazy with the first few songs. Then we dive into a dreamy way – it´s the moment when the sun hits the water surface. After this, when it´s getting darker and darker, I will tune up with some faster slothdisco vibes before we heading into darker, deeper and “geile” music. After this, I will give you some better feelings to end this journey with a smile in your face 😊 😊

About this EP :

The 4 Elements of nature, with their freedom and wisdom, take us to places of synergy with Mother Earth and human spiritual enrichment. Wind is freedom, Earth is balance, Water represents the ability to flow and Fire is passion and energy. Conceived by the talented Spanish producer UNAM in collaboration with the awesome singer Lola Nahual, together with a team of unique creative magicians such as; Mom, Thommie G, Sangeet, Lev Tatarov, and Serkan Eles, los 4 Elementos is a diverse and deep journey to enjoy.

The track ¨Los 4 Elementos¨ highlights the deep voice of Lola Nahual, along with ¨Its just a ride¨ inspired by Bill Hicks and one of his famous monologues, after that ¨Dragon Azul¨ is dedicated to the mystical flight and the life of this mythical creature plus all the other remixes which come with their unique taste each one of them. We hope you enjoy this release full of magic and elemental energies to nourish the soul and of course, the dance floor as well! Hugs from the Cosmo tribe to all of you!

Wonderful chillout track by Wiki Chaves out on @the-slow-music-movement.

Track Info:

Argentinian by nature, Californian by location and just in time for summer along comes Wiki Chaves, armed with his Ace Tone drum machine, guitars and a pleasing genre neutrality to help make those holiday hammock sessions even more chilled and those summer nights that bit steamier. He's like an iced lemonade and fruit cocktail in one handy, multi-compartmental, recyclable thermos container.

But this is only part of the story. Big things are happening in Wiki's world, not least becoming a parent at the same time as navigating major life changes and rediscovering the joys of nature. Some people at this stage of their life dial the therapist, Wiki opted for musicology instead and is releasing an LP of tropical mantric grooves to help him, and you if you press play, through life's challenges.

So jump on the couch and head over to his Bandcamp for the full therapy session whilst checking the tropical dub delights of "Pleasure Point" and the Exotica meets Surfadelic excitement of "Hollywood" released as singles through The Slow Music Movement.

Come into the world of F.I.E.L.D.Y and MindFoxx.... Sirens is our favorite track of this wonderful EP. The production is quality and we love the musical journey they take us on.

Release Date: July 19, 2021

ENG:

Oh yeah... This time it gets deep. Our friend F.I.E.l.D.Y is back after his debut on our Planisphere of Dendera compilation. Only this time with a whole trilogy of tracks, all in collaboration with homie MindFoxx. If you don't know F.I.E.l.D.Y. yet, now it's about time. A Hammer in Slow.

The title track Blurry Woods promises basically already a playful, dark thing. More than that is offered, though. Crisp, and so on point are the drums. Here and there a bit of LoFi, spooled schnick schnack and deepest basses enchant directly.

Sirens has a train forward and offers the necessary tension for a banger. Wonderful vocals hypnotize, while a subtle touch of Psy mixes in. Out the back, a crunchy synth complements, which reminds a bit of Anthony Rother in the 2000s. A great piece, very versatile and childlike playful, the two also show here what they can do.

With Falling Star comes a concentrated wave of energy with a gloomy note and progressive mood rolled in. Something of industrial character and minimal anomaly affects the dance legs with usual craziness. Dirty club sound, to put it in a nutshell.

GER:

Oh yeah… Diesmal wirds deep.

Something wild, when artists just start jamming together and get inspired. We just love when something out of the ordinary occurs in music especially today when we do not have enough diversity :)

Track Info:

Tracks, created in the framework of the production of FAT-ZIG 52 (Von Krup - Schoentl at Freude Am Tanzen), which weren’t included in the demo track list where the creative environment derived from a camping marathon in Huasca, Hidalgo. Sonically the EP compiles the fantastic and occultist spirit of Alekzal and Von Krup when they play together. The use of mandolins in different tunings is inspired by the induced folk through "Led Zeppelin IV". Furthermore you can hear the resource of the click/glitch, which Von Krup started to introduce in his percussive atmospheres since 2018.

“Fosfenos” and “Luces en el lago” count on the participation of Alekzal, who played the mandolin.

Leading us into the third century of sunset grooves mix tapes we have our friend and music lover Oscar Mederos. We crossed paths a number of years ago enjoying each other's music critiques and comments on music we loved and shared.

Originally from Cuba and now based in Miami, you can be sure that he can point you in the right direction for any underground event that involves seriously good music. A true passionate, which can be heard whenever he is behind the decks. As a resident DJ at the "Do not sit on the furniture" nights or taking part in All Day I Dream events, he is without doubt an artist who will lead you on a unique musical experience.

Therefore it is with a huge pleasure to be able to share this wonderful chill set he has put for us. Something light to go with this unusually rainy and cloudy summer we are experiencing in certain parts of the world.
