Bio:

Exploring different sounds is truly crucial for us as a label. While many in the industry try to specialize on one

certain sound, we want to break the tunnel vision and show the world great variation of music, while

maintaining the most important ingredient, that truly embodies the sound of Nie Wieder Schlafen :

Atmosphere. Kotu take you into the deepest realms of organic resonances, with the focus on mesmerizing

percussions and tribal drum patterns. The original tracks are complemented by a remix from Kincaid & Sinàl,

who recently joined the family.

„Skoura“ is a percussion focused production, that is based around a minimal, but strong groove. Screams &

giggles of hyenahs are present throughout the track and help transport you to a distant land. Organic drum

arrangements keep up the dynamics in this minimalistic track, which slowly evolves into a hypnotic ride, pulling

you in with its details.

While the vibe remains, the dynamics change quite drastically in „Makalu“. A production led by a variety of

interesting leads including a lovely vocal sample, harmonic pads & a rather striking bassline that achieves to

create a sound of the wild. Kotu builds on the minimalistic drum groove of Skoura with beautiful ethereal

elements only to hit you with clear drum drops, that will melt together with the natural atmosphere of this track.

At last, we invited Kincaid & Sinàl to create a track, that truly pushes the boundaries of what can be achieved

in electronic music :

The guys were able to rework the Original in a way that is not only fascinating, but utterly unique. Not a single

part of the remix seems the same, as the track is continiously progressing and changing. It feels as if you are

never in one place for too long. From dark basslines, to mysterious & intimate sections, up to high pitched

synths work...this remix has it all. A true trip, created with passion & professionel craft, through its entire

runtime. It is absolutely not surprising that the productions of these guys are supported all over the world – A

true honour to have them with us. As always please go have fun with these pieces of art!

Originals composed by Kotu.

Remix by Kincaid & Sinàl.

Mastering by Roby Deep.

We have the captain on board the Sunset Grooves Ship for number 99! Just after he started his wonderful Seaside Trip Podcast, Sunset Grooves launched it's very own podcast. Funky Chap was featured on his podcast and ever since then had given an open invitation for Rolandson to feature on the Sunset Grooves podcast. We don't believe in coincidence, and the fact that he was not able to do one until now, seems to be wonderful timing for him to feature on last podcast before a special 100th podcast for Sunset Grooves.

Rolandson, a traveler not a tourist and this traveler of music and sounds began his voyage in the mid 90s and has since explored the depths of 90s Berlin dub & techno, the electro swing revival in Paris/ France and Brighton/ England, downtempo and indigenous sounds from all over the world during his travels and discovering many more musical impulses that have shaped his life along the years. So in this his selections are always a highly curated combination of unique tracks that are timeless and that overcome the boundaries of genre, country, or context.

This mix of almost 2 hours will take you on a downtempo journey of wonderful sounds. The effort and time went into this mix should not go unnoticed and you will with your own ears discover the magic that comes from Rolandson's muscial mind and talented hands on the decks.

It is a wonderful pleasure to have you on board finally captain and thank you again for this mix :)

It has been a while since Funky Chap got down and dirty to do a sunset grooves mix. So he has put together a careful selection of deep house grooves in preparation for the sunsets to be experienced for Afrika Burn 2017. His trademark journey of warming the crowd up gently for an evening sunset and to leave them wanting more.

Founder of Sunset Grooves he will always be listening out for upcoming artists and their talent, but will still share a boogie with the older crew who know whats what! Never forget to smile, make time for a dance and enjoy the moment you're living in. Through music we unite everyone from around the world to make it a better place. :)

This 93rd podcast has been concocted by none other than Jonny Tawn a school friend from way back when and his partner in crime Sam Wigg who are a London based duo known as Jive Talk.

They are known to find the right grooves to get you moving and boy they know how to get you warmed up. Deep and sultry underground disco cuts, smooth house flavours and splendidly energetic bass lines is what gets this pair off and their selection is guaranteed to make you shuffle.

Mixing behind the decks alongside the likes of Hot Toddy, Pete Herbert and the awesome Todd Terje, it comes as no surprise that you will be able to find them jamming at festivals such as Virgo and Gottwood.

Give them a follow for this upcoming duo as if you happen to be in London they will surly be mixing on some rooftop that weekend.

Many thanks for this absolute gem of a mix guys!
