Atropos an upcoming talent from our local home town of Lausanne who engraves all his tracks onto CDs, showing his careful selection when choosing tracks to use for his curated mixes. An avid supporter of Sunset Grooves, he opened the first ever Sunset Grooves event earlier this year and so we are proud to have him on our podcast for you to discover his downtempo journey of sounds from across the globe. Part of the local music collectives Note Gourmande and La Poutière Records, he has notably mixed along the sides of Nicola Cruz and Nicola Noir at the Montreux Jazz Festival as well as a number of underground events around Switzerland.

If he is not behind the decks he will be on the dancefloor with his beaming smile supporting the other artists and sharing the love of music we all have in all its forms.

Merci encore pour ce superbe mix mon Greg. Vivement les prochaines!

It is an absolute pleasure to have him on board and has put together a smooth hour of melodic, deep and eerie vibes for a perfect November sunset. A new premiere from the wonderful Yarni, a producer that we have been following for sometime for his ability to weave in and out of different genres of electronic music. He is always looking to further develop his productions and is not afraid to experiment using unique sounds and varied techniques to bring you a new musical journey. It is with pleasure to share one of his productions! His deep eerie vibe with Escher comes on the upcoming quality EP being released next month by Night Noise

MUSA EP:

Steering clear of the dance floor with this release Night Noise presents its 34th release and in doing so returns to its roots of seeking out unknown artists and providing a platform for artists on it's roster to showcase their talents.

'Musa' EP is a little bit different in that we asked the artist's involved to create a piece that is inspired by the people, places and music that surround them.

New to the label we have Robert Burbidge's Rubberlips feat Day whose beautiful song 'Without The Moon' kicks off the EP. We then have 'Ibicentric' who are fronted by former Sham 69 bassist Andy Prince and remixed by Night Noise regular 'Bedford Falls Players' Mark Cooper.

Regular Night Noise contributors Jamie Porteous, Yarni and AWITW all deliver music that sits somewhere between Chillout, Balearica and Experimental and in doing so they showcase their many individual talents.

We hope you enjoy x

Podcast 100 !! Thank you!

After a number of months struggling to put together a unique concept with all the DJs, it unfortunately took too long to put together. We shall keep it for the 200th podcast should we get there! In the meantime we have had a new logo put together by the lovely Manon Richard encompassing a fresh look yet keeping that sunset and groovy vibe (Manon's contact details below).

However, this paved the way for an alternative option and we asked none other than Thommie G to put together a special mix for the 100th Sunset Grooves Podcast. For us Thommie G epitomizes what sunset grooves represents! Good vibes, grooves, music from around the world, different genres and a smiling personality that gives off only positive emotions.

This is an absolute treasure of a mix with some unreleased and unique edits from the man himself and outstanding tracklist to kick off the autumn season. If you need to broaden your musical library, go and follow him straight away as he will keep on delivering quality and surprising musical combinations.

A few words from Thommie G:

" I've been going through my music vault for this special podcast, searching for forgotten treasures and other precious tracks that stand the test of time. I also added some new tracks, edits and remixes of myself that will come out later this year and in 2018, as well as a very fine remix by the great Intiche which is definitely worth mentioning. I decided to step away from the (tropical) outdoor music, and dive into the deeper sounds, since club season is on our doorstep. "

Thank you very much for this lovely podcast Thomas! Big hugs

Alex Kaminski is Russian German focusing on down-tempo electronic music inspired by a wide range of sounds; from former soviet, Kazakh and Ukrainian folk to the more Latin inspired melodies coming from the Andes and Amazon Region.

His newest EP Kalokairi is exceptional and we are very honored that WAYU Records have asked us to premiere one of our favorite tracks of the EP Agape. It has that wonderful down tempo feel good vibe to it which we love and therefore cannot wait to play this for our next sunset session. It is worth checking out all tracks on this EP and swinging by his page for his other wonderful productions. WAYU Records a wonderful upcoming label which you need to follow.

About the Kalokairi EP:

Kalokairi takes you into a journey of the three phases of love, based on Greek literature and philosophy. The first phase, Eros, describes the initial passion and physical attraction between two individuals. It is the first impression of either a relationship, or in this case, a musical art form. The second phase, Philia, talks about conditional love, the aspect of a relationship in which one's attraction is dependent on receiving something from the other person inolved in it. This mid-phase offers the listener something more than just an initial attraction; it engages and creates a compromise that will lead you into the third and final phase of love; Agape. Ultimately, Agape is the phase we all long for, unconditional love. This is the phase that best describes what an artist expects from an audience. It is not the superficial emotions that could come along with electronic music in some cases, but the unconditional passion for rhythm and melody that fuels an artists's mind into creating the next experience for his or her audience.
