So plenty of music to come over the next couple of weeks with some super duper artists! We love local and we are very pleased to premier this quality track by Mobi coming out on the cool label tiefgang recordings, our friendly neighbors from Bern! Keep an eye out for Mobi and his slick productions.

Mobis homage to the blue hour – Tiefgang with 10th release ‘oben*unten’

The Berne based label Tiefgang established itself in its 6 years of existence through unique off-space events as well as rowdy club nights.

Responsible for the upcoming release N°10 is the label-cofounder Matthias Gähwiler aka Mobi. oben*unten is a dedication to the blue hour - the time before dawn - and it’s dreamy and melancholic atmosphere.

Both tracks are characteristic for Mobis style of production, because of their deep but still organic texture. oben is a straight forward clubtrack, while unten shows the spherical side of the producer.

Tiefgang throws a Sunday-dance April 15th at Klub Kabitel Bern as a releaseparty.

Bio Mobi

Born and raised in Lucerne, Mobi learned djing in his hometown. Soon moved to Berne, where he joined the Tiefgang Family in 2013 and one year later co-founded the imprint Tiefgang Recordings. Besides his 3 upcoming release on Tiefgang he produced a variety of remixes and edits.

Mobi’s into deep organic sounds and produces warm and melodic tracks. As a DJ, Mobi is searching for moments of strong and driving tension, only to release them an instant later into a floating grooves.

Gruenspan aka Till from Zurich is a music traveller with a massive smile and when he is behind the decks he makes you groooooooove! We have a set from him that we got the opportunity to dance to live at the wonderful Burning Bär Festival in a Castle in Halle, Germany. In an intimate and cosy room with a banging sound system what more can you ask for.

He is known for bringing out some cracking deep house and tech house tunes at a number of regional Burn events all year round. He will not put himself in the spotlight, but his music will do the talking and will make you want to listen to his next set.

It is always a real pleasure to premier upcoming releases for the NWS crew especially when it is one of our favorite artists from the North! Yarni delivering a super EP where each track would be welcome in any track list of one of our sets.

Here are a few words from the music guru's themselves about the artists who have contributed to the EP:

"We jump into Year 2 of Nie Wieder Schlafen’s music, starting with one of the core artists of our Family. Sheffield’s own Benji Musk aka. Yarni has been a great addition to our roster since day one. He loves the family-minded focus of our community and is the first to give feedback on any subject. With heart and gentle care he has developed a true sound of his own, combining field-recordings, he collects while travelling through the world, with synthetic sounds he creates on his (almost) analog-only studio. His open-minded way of developing percussive productions is something re-freshing in the scene and truly pushes for innovation. His EP contains 5 productions, including 3 originals of his own and some creative re-imaginations from our friends of Hacker & Miethig and one of music’s most innovative artists, Kincaid.

„Aera“ ist the best possible example for Yarni’s sound and production style. Warm bassline, organic percussions arranged beautfully within in a pool of intimate & soothing melodies creating a certain type of atmosphere, we appreciate so much about Yarni’s sound.

Main title track „Voiski“ is able to shine a different light on the oh-so-known Arpeggiator-production. With a strong focus on warm and dynamic percussion arrangements and a clear synthetic arp lead, Yarni tries to clearly distinct the parts of the track, rather than melting both key elements together. The result is an interesting new sound, which brings a fresh look to the oversaturated offer of arp-focused productions.

„Shuka“ is the result of Yarni’s strength to explore new arrangements and grooves in interesting ways. Orientalic touches and fresh beat patterns suck you into this production right away. The track keeps you interested with the inclusion of old school vocal FX and fitting ways of raising the tension throughout its running time.

Hacker & Miething turned Yarni’s main title track up-side-own and into the realms of a dubby, yet progressive sound. While removing the melodic progression of the main lead and using it as a tense background pattern, this remix creates a hypnotic state, that slowly sucks you in and doesn’t let go. Interesting synth leads are introduced gently and build up in a smooth way, never leaving the state of an ever building atmosphere.

Kincaid has been changing the game with creative and fresh music, especially when it comes to culturally influenced productions. As expected our friend was interested in putting Yarni’s creative production „Shuka“ in a new light. His mysterious downbeat re-work tells a cinematic story, that delivers a dubby, big room sound full of new and dynamic percussive elements as they are, once again, put together in such a dynamic way."

Saif Halasa is a DJ and producer living in Brisbane down under in Australia. We have the pleasure to premiere again one of Thommie G's tracks out on the wonderful Tropical Twista Records. It is a beautifully composed piece of music taking you on a tropical journey.

Takimuyki is part of Naaleo EP, coming to our favorite label from the tropics: Tropical Twista Records, the same label where Thommie G released his debut EP, almost 2 years ago.

Takimuyki mixes various elements together; it's a delicate piece of music, combining Ayahuasca ceremony music from the Amazon rainforest with modern day rhythms, percussion and melodies. Not necessarily meant for night clubbing activities, the track mesmerizes the listener away from the cold European winter straight into the warmth of South America.

Watch the release closely as it hits stores on february 26th, for there's a remix coming out by the likes of Ohxala, taking it to deeper levels with an awesome groove.

Our wonderful friends from Nie Wieder Schlafen are releasing their first Various Artists compilation. We have the pleasure of doing a Premiere of Desafinado by Swooh & CityOfSun88 which is an absolute fresh summer breeze of a track. Desafinado which means out of tune is everything but tuneless. Wonderful percussion, subtle piano, dreamy vocal all ingredients for a music gem.

'AVANTO' is the first Various Artist compilation of Nie Wieder Schlafen, consisting of 15 productions, collected over the first few months of the label’s existence. A collection of music from friends, fans and unknown artists forming an extended album with an incredible variety of genres put together in a thought out order for your listening pleasure.
