After a fantastic run of new horror films (finally), we have decided to return to our ongoing Ranking Wes Craven series before getting back to business in a very busy looking July. This week is the first Wes Craven film we’ve discussed that neither of us has ever seen before. What did we make of our first time viewing of Swamp Thing in 2021 and did we overlook this film for so long or made a wise choice to avoid it? We give our verdict on definitely the most bizarre Craven film we’ve covered so far. Elsewhere this week; Halloween Kills finally gets a proper trailer and boy does Michael do some killing in this one. Arrow Video announce a fantastic upcoming box set. And ending the show Matt continues his quest for personal Cronenberg redemption; this time discussing Videodrome.

After a much needed run of cinema releases that we’ve so desperately craved for so long; we are back to digital releases but with one that we’ve been dying to see. Zack Snyder’s long awaited return to the zombie genre is here and we really hope it’s as good as the last time he was here. We go over everything from Zombie tigers, Dave Bautista is an apron and some bizarre lens choices. Elsewhere this week; A Quiet Place Part 2 continues to make a lot of money which makes us happy. Locke & Key returns later this year. And finally we discuss ‘comfort food’ films and why we watch the same films over and over again instead of trying new stuff.

Ending our current cinema run for a few weeks is another sequel in a franchise that has brought us many highs and many lows to date. The Conjuring 2 was one of the first big cinema horror films we covered for the show back in 2016 and still one of our favourites. Will the lack of James Wan in the director’s chair not be as missed with the proper return of the Warrens on screen? Let’s find out. We’re celebrating our 250th show in style. Finally. After all the months waiting. All the delays. All the times we’ve had to avoid the trailer in cinemas. We have finally seen A Quiet Place Part II. But is it any good? After last week we really needed this to be a win for horror fans. We give our verdict on the sequel to our 2018 film of the year. Elsewhere this week; the next Evil Dead is seemingly skipping cinemas in some territories which has us worried. The full trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s Old is here and we have a lot of questions. The big one has finally arrived! After waiting for over a year our return to the cinema just so happens to be with a film we’ve been dying to see from the moment the first trailer dropped. So many questions are about to be answered regarding Chris Rock as a serious actor, Darren Lynn Bousman returning to the franchise that made him, a Saw film without Jigsaw etc. But most importantly, is it any good? Trust me; you won’t want to miss this show. Elsewhere this week; the best trailer of the year just dropped and we are now all aboard the hype train for Last Night in Soho. The Fear Street trilogy gets confirmed for a July release. And ending the show Matt watched a new film from a favourite modern director of his and Mike watched a classic for the first time that didn’t meet his expectations.

After taking a much needed break from new horror to discuss some great TV and of course more Craven we have returned back to our mainstay of covering all the new releases that catch our eye. With the cinema and big horror releases just around the corner; this week sees us discuss a smaller film which still definitely deserves your attention. A first for our Ranking Wes Craven series so far as this week we discuss a film one of us has never seen before. Deadly Blessing serves an interesting point in the career of Craven as it comes after his early cult hits but still before he hit the big time with his massive films in the mid 80’s. Is this an underrated gem or best forgotten far behind the great man’s other films? Let's find out. Elsewhere this week; an unfinished zombie film from the king of the genre himself George A.
