We have compiled the official SHB Top 10 horror films of 2019 list and go over each one with our reasons for why we loved these films so much. Next up is our annual award giving out time where we highlight some more specific moments of the genre in 2019 such as Best Death and Best Surprise. And rounding out this bumper show we go over your listener picks of what movies wowed you the most this year. 2019 has been our best ever year once again and we greatly appreciate the support you continue to show us over the years. Before we sit down to discuss the best films of the year next week we are back with our last regular show of 2019. Returning to the cinema one last time is the remake of the remake of Black Christmas. We’re always down for some fun seasonal horror so let’s see if this film delivered on its easily executable premise that’s already been done twice to a good degree. Elsewhere this week; there continues to be no news so we let Mike go off on the new Ghostbusters trailer and we’ll keep track of how long it takes until he’s disappointed once again. On the first show of a double bill this week we are back to discuss, you guessed it, yet another FrightFest film. This was one that we really wanted to see at the festival but couldn’t due to scheduling so we’re happy to finally sit down and discuss this new slasher throwback that was picked up by Shudder recently. Elsewhere this week; the Train to Busan sequel gets some new details and we cannot wait to see the follow up to one of our favourite ever zombie films. Ending the show we finally discuss The Purge - Season 2 and whether it’s as good as the previous season that we thoroughly enjoyed.

Bliss was actually on the main screen when we decided to watch Freaks instead and that ended up being our favourite film of the festival. But did we also miss out on another new horror gem? We are back again this week to discuss yet another new release that has grabbed our attention. Little Monsters looks to fuse horror and comedy and with an interesting cast attached; we had high hopes this could be a film that hopefully rivalled the great films of this sub genre such as Shaun of the Dead. Hear our verdict now on if this film is worth your time as the weeks in 2019 quickly disappear. Elsewhere this week, Freddy Krueger just can’t stay out of the news recently. We could be seeing The Lighthouse sooner than we originally thought. And rounding out the show we have both seen Arrow Video releases of 90’s horror films and it’s a very mixed bag.
