Over 3 years ago we started ranking all of Wes Craven’s horror films. And now it’s finally over. My Soul to Take is the last film to add to the list and unless we add on his TV films; our ranking will be complete. It’s been a long road with many highs and a few lows discussing our favourite director’s entire catalogue and we couldn't be happier to have spent so long celebrating this legend’s career. After a couple of weeks away we are back and more ready than ever for the horror world to wow us once again. We spoke about this film being pulled from UK cinemas just before it’s release but after being put on demand to die we figured we’d see if this latest Dracula flick has anything to offer or not. Elsewhere this week; Shudder is bringing the heat in October with the return of Creepshow and V/H/S. Chucky returns very soon as well. Arrow Video acquires yet another banger for a 4K release later this year. And ending the show we’ve both been playing and enjoying a new game that’s based upon one of the greatest horror films ever made that celebrates its 50th anniversary next year.

This truly is one of the most bizarre and unique films we've ever covered and we do our best to try and encapsulate what makes this film as insane as it is. Well this certainly wasn’t on our bingo card for 2023. A Spanish language spin off of Bird Box released 5 years after the last film. What a strange but actually very cool concept which is an interesting way to flesh out a world and setting. We dissect whether this sequel can deliver and also how much of Bird Box we actually remember at this point (very little). Elsewhere this week; FrightFest makes some big changes which we give our opinion on. The Last of Us gets even more acclaim. And ending the show we give a brief chat about the best experience you can have at the cinema so far this year and what makes ‘event cinema’ so special.

The cinema can give us some unbelievable highs when it comes to horror but it can also give us some of the most uninspired trash. Here’s hoping the 5th Insidious film can break the trend of the recent sequels and deliver a worthy successor to the original film. With a super interesting premise and returning cast members there is definitely a big reason why this film got made and we break down exactly where this movie worked and plenty of other areas that sadly didn’t work. Continuing from last week we are talking all about the magnificent return of Black Mirror. And this turned out to be a lot more horror focused than we expected. We have 3 episodes left to discuss and there sure is alot to get into. This season has completely broken the mould of what even is a Black Mirror episode anymore whilst still bringing the classic morality and ethics with a technology spin that we know and love so well. 4 years is a long time to wait for a new season but this sure was worth the wait. We hope you enjoyed this season as much as us and we look ahead to what the future of this show might be.
