SuperCoach Champions

It's MAGIC this week as we stumble into Round 10, Magic Round where all the games will be played at Suncorp Stadium, albeit a possibly quite wet Suncorp. Catfish and Joe Fitz are here to take you through this week, after a late withdrawal from Tim Moodie due to a dental emergency.

We go through the key news and also do some serious number crunching in our new segment proudly sponsored by Carl McGrath Accountant. This round's deep dive is about 2022 Tommy Turbo, giving you the numbers to consider. Then we consider whether it's Turbo time or not, and if not, whether it's Garrick time instead. We look at other potential Papenhuyzen replacements, and also do a bit of a different dive into bye coverage - looking at Round 13 options, Round 17 options in terms of season averages, and compare it to the State of Origin bound premium keepers; quite interesting!

We preview all the key match-ups and points of interest for the Round 10 games and we finish up by picking our Swysh SuperCoach Stars of the week.

No Wackos' Whispers again this week as he continues to attend to important family matters but he will be back soon! So again, weirdly a Late Mail Edition without late mail haha! Lots of questions this week so hopefully it's helpful! Lots of chat re: Tass, Tuipulotu, Haumole, Turbo, Drinkwater, Elliott and more!

2022 SuperCoach has been one of the tightest seasons going around this early in the year, with massive ranking changes possible due to how compressed all the teams are! The ranks keep compressing more and more after Round 8's lack of massive scorers, and this week we have Catfish, Joe Fitz and the reigning 2021 champion Tim Moodie (@theSCLurker) to work through the key issues for Round 9.

We go through the key news and also do some serious number crunching in our new segment proudly sponsored by Carl McGrath Accountant. This week we deep dive into Xavier Coates, then we play a bit of 'who am I?' as a bit of a potential comparison for what to expect for the rest of Coates' season. We also look closely at whether or not it's too late to jump on Origin guns as we are only four rounds away from Round 13 / the Origin period, considerations to take into account when deciding whether to trade out Round 13 players, and look at other important points to think about when considering team structure and whether you have coverage in key positions in post-Origin rounds (Rounds 14 and 18).

We preview all the key match-ups and points of interest for the Round 9 games (with plenty of chat on whether or not to hold/sell Haas, take a punt on Tass, Drinkwater, Cody Walker and plenty of other names) and we finish up by picking our Swysh SuperCoach Stars of the week.

Poor Wacko is still flat out so no Wackos' Whispers again this week as he continues to attend to important family matters. So again, weirdly a Late Mail Edition without late mail haha! Lots of questions this week so hopefully it's helpful! Lots of chat re: Cleary, Talakai, Suaalii, Paix, Tass, Dylbags, Cody Walker, Munster, IPap, SWalker and others.

Round 7 was a round of 'haves and have nots', although the list of 'haves' last week really included the likes of Talakai, Cleary, Papenhuyzen, Isaiah Papali'i and several others. You didn't need to have all of them, but you needed at least some of them. The ranks keep compressing more and more, and this week we have Catfish, Joe Fitz and the reigning 2021 champion Tim Moodie (@theSCLurker) to work through the key issues for Round 8.

We go through the key news and also do some serious number crunching in our new segment proudly sponsored by Carl McGrath Accountant. This week we revisit Cleary's numbers, then we play a bit of 'who am I?' with two players who are hotly discussed this week. We also look at whether it's too late for Talakai, do you break your team for Cleary, and we take a preliminary look at the Round 13 bye and consider how many trades used is too many at this point in the season.

We preview all the key match-ups and points of interest for the Round 8 games and we finish up by picking our Swysh SuperCoach Stars of the week.

Poor Wacko is still flat out so no Wackos' Whispers again this week as he continues to attend to important family matters. So again, weirdly a Late Mail Edition without late mail haha! Catfish is flat out too so it's a shorter one, not able to get to every question unfortunately but will try answer them online.

Lots of thoughts re: Cleary, Teddy, Schneider, Taaffe, Staggs, Fermor and many more!

Round 6 was well and truly "Cleary's round" and it makes things super interesting moving forward. The ranks are compressing more and more, and this week we have Catfish, Joe Fitz and the reigning 2021 champion Tim Moodie (@theSCLurker) to work through the key issues for Round 7.

We go through the key news and also do some serious number crunching in our new segment proudly sponsored by Carl McGrath Accountant. It's all about Siosifa Talakai! For our strategy chat, we consider some of the potential changes to try assist interpretation and what that may mean for halves/fullbacks/centres, and then we spend a LOT of time working through whether Nathan Cleary is a 'must-have', whether Teddy is a trade-out and even looking at whether Taaffe should come into the team or not. We preview all the key match-ups and points of interest for the Round 7 games (apologies for the missing Storm/Warriors match-up!) and we finish up by picking our Swysh SuperCoach Stars of the week.

Unfortunately still no Wackos' Whispers again this week as he is still attending to important family matters. So again, weirdly a Late Mail Edition without late mail haha! But plenty of time for a LOT of questions from the Champs Discord and also Twitter... including chat on a heap of players like Cotter, Jones, Koula, IPap, Cook and others!

Round 5 was moving round for plenty, with captaincy decisions really making a difference. The ranks are compressing more and more, and this week we have Catfish (2016 overall champion), Joe Naddaf (2020 overall champion - @joenaddafA1) and the reigning 2021 champion Tim Moodie (@theSCLurker) to work through the key issues for Round 6.

We go through the key news and also do some serious number crunching in our new segment proudly sponsored by Carl McGrath Accountant. It's all about Nathan Cleary this week. For our strategy chat, we spend a lot of time working through whether Cleary is a priority trade or not, how the setup of your team may influence this decision. We reflect again on how the season is shaping up scoring-wise, review whether match-ups are as important as last year and of course, we discuss captaincy. We preview all the key match-ups and points of interest for the Round 6 games and finish up by picking our Swysh SuperCoach Stars of the week.
