SuperCoach Champions

Round 4 is, as they say, a game of two halves; the first half was so low scoring, and then we had a points explosion in the last few games. The SuperCoach landscape continues to shift and the overall ranks are compressing more each week. Joe Fitz returns to join Catfish and 2021 champion Tim Moodie (@theSCLurker) to make sense of the upcoming round.

We go through the key news (PVL tackling wrestling, addition of dual position status for certain players, judiciary, injuries, etc.) and also do some serious number crunching in our new segment proudly sponsored by Carl McGrath Accountant. Catfish reviews the standout performers in each position relative to ownership and also to the next highly owned players.

For our strategy chat, we build on the number crunching and identify some of the positions which offer the most potential for POD moves to climb the rankings. We also reflect on the idea of strength of schedule. We preview all the key match-ups and points of interest for the Round 5 games and finish up by picking our Swysh SuperCoach Stars of the week.

Unfortunately no Wackos' Whispers this week as he was a late withdrawal (due to family reasons), so weirdly a Late Mail Edition without late mail haha! But plenty of time for a LOT of questions... including chat on a heap of players like Fermor, Nanai, AFB, Josh King, Leo Thompson, Staggs, Cobbo, May, Wilton, and plenty more!

Round 3 is done and dusted and prices are now moving each week for most players in SuperCoach. The foundations of our teams are close to being set and it's all about the long game now. Catfish is joined by 2021 champion Tim Moodie (@theSCLurker) to tackle the upcoming round.

We go through the key news (judiciary, injuries, etc.) and also do some serious number crunching in our new segment proudly sponsored by Carl McGrath Accountant. Catfish reviews the highest averaging players so far and looks at how the scores stack up from Round 3 last year and this year as well.

For our strategy chat, we revisit what the structure of our teams should potentially focus on, we look at which key players we need to prioritise for our teams so far, and also start the Cleary dance, and also deliberate whether or not it's Turbo time or not. We also ponder the question, "how far back is too far back?" for winning the overall competition, and the answer may surprise you!

We preview all the key match-ups and points of interest for the Round 4 games and finish up by picking our Swysh SuperCoach Stars of the week.

Wacko Jacko joins Catfish to share his Whispers for Round 3, then Catfish dives into the questions from the Champs Discord and Twitter.

A broad range of questions this week, including lots of chat about whether or not to downgrade Turbo, DFifita, Angus Crichton, who to move towards, as well as cheapie chat on Leo Thompson, Alec MacDonald and others.

if we thought Round 1 was painful, Round 2 certainly didn't let up. We saw more confirmation that it's a whole new ball game for 2022 and Catfish and Joe Fitz talk through what that means for this season.

We go through the key news (judiciary, injuries, etc.) and also do some hardcore number crunching in our new segment proudly sponsored by Carl McGrath Accountant. Catfish breaks down how much of a change we are actually seeing in the attacking stats in Rounds 1 and 2 of last year to this year.

For our strategy chat, we discuss what we need to focus on this week for our trades, whether it's about cash or points, and how you can find ways to balance between them, and also look at hot topics such as whether Turbo is a trade-out, whether or not David Fifita is a sell, and plenty of other difficult decisions.

We preview all the key match-ups and points of interest for the Round 3 games and finish up by picking our Swysh SuperCoach Stars of the week.

How about that for a Round 1?! Welcome back to SuperCoach indeed, and it's a whole new ball game for 2022... maybe? We'll have to see, but Catfish, Joe Fitz and 2021 champion Tim Moodie (@TheSCLurker) are here to unpack what we gathered from Round 1, and preview Round 2 as well.

We go through the key news (judiciary, injuries, etc.) and also unveil a new segment proudly sponsored by Carl McGrath Accountant, where we dive into the numbers each week. We discuss whether we need to change our strategy/approach to 2022 SuperCoach, including whether or not it's time to already use our first trade boost and what 'mistakes' we need to consider fixing!

We preview all the key match-ups and points of interest for the Round 2 games and finish up by picking our Swysh SuperCoach Stars of the week.

Lots of chat about cheapies, the mid-range forwards (Katoa, Luki, Nanai), whether to go expensive or cheap FRFs, some start-sit decisions and then Catfish reveals his current team (which still might change due to late news!).

A monster episode as we delve into the murkiness of TLT, breakdown our thoughts on many of the key players that SuperCoaches are considering, share players that are in our teams, go all 'Admiral Akhbar' on numerous traps throughout the teamlists.

Our Swysh SuperCoach Star of the Week is back as well! We put in our predictions for Round 1's stars.

Finally, we get strategic with some burning questions:-

- who do you get instead of Cleary? A detailed breakdown of the best halfback replacements;

- is it Turbo time? Is that where the Cleary money goes?

- is starting a cheapie FRF each week in your 13 a potential problem?

- are there too many cheapies? A detailed review of all the most highly owned cheapies ($300k and below, plus 1 or 2 slightly over $300k).

Our final special guest of the 2022 preseason is none other than Wacko Jacko himself of @WackosWhispers fame. We have great news in that Wacko is still going to join us each week to share his mail on our Late Mail episode (each Thursday); we just won't get his normal article.

Wacko gives us his 'rookie radar' for 2022 - for the names to keep a close eye on for TLT (from Round 1 or throughout the season). We also find out a few nuggets of knowledge like the Warriors' expected goalkicker, etc. A must-listen!
