For the rest of the month of May and part of June, we will be discussing legendary Japanese filmmaker/auteur Hayao Miyazaki in an event we are calling Mayazaki! In the first part of this series we discuss one of our favorite films, the underrated classic Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind. No, not that one, this is the 1975 anime version of the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale that Lauren fished out of the briny deep for us to watch. There are some similarities with the 1989 Disney version though, and some of us here at Supercultured think it may have been on porpoise. This week on Supercultured we discuss the latest in what now can be called the Star Wars Extended Cinematic Universe, and that movie is Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
