DC Studios and Warner Bros. have released an hour-long documentary titled Adventures in the Making of Superman on YouTube, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the relaunch of the iconic character.[1] Eagle-eyed viewers of the documentary noticed a storyboard that may hint at a sequel, showing Superman, Supergirl, and Krypto flying together with the head of Brainiac in the bottom left corner.[1] Brainiac, considered one of Superman's greatest foes and second only to Lex Luthor, has never appeared in a live-action film despite multiple appearances by other villains.[1] Brainiac has a history of shrinking Krypton's capital city, Kandor, which could tie into an adventure for the entire Superman family, as Supergirl has personal memories of Brainiac's arrival on Krypton.[1] The article suggests this could be an opportunity to introduce Superboy/Conner Kent and even Lois Lane as Superwoman for a cosmic adventure.[1] James Gunn had previously mentioned Brainiac as a potential villain for Superman.
