A Coast probation officer will spend 10 days in a Harrison County Jail for an incident that resulted in a man being wrongfully held in jail for months. According to WLOX, probation officer Michael Whitfield was terminated by the Mississippi Department of Corrections, and his law enforcement officer certification has been suspended pending a hearing with the state Board of Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training, which is expected in October or November.

Two people were taken to a hospital in Jackson after a double shooting on Taylor Street on Saturday around 12:15 a.m. At this point, Capitol Police haven't made any arrests for the crime. Plus, two young children who were reported missing in Pearl on Saturday night.
