Last week, Governor Tate Reeves launched an initiative aimed at making Mississippi a leader in American energy through a partnership with the public sector and private businesses. Reeves believes economic development and the ability to provide power go hand-in-hand. Patrick Sullivan, the President of the Mississippi Energy Institute, says the Governor is thinking long-term. Mississippi has attracted billions in new private sector investment, and a lot of the wins--like Amazon Web Services-- involve energy-intensive projects.
