In this episode of Support is Sexy, Elayne Fluker invites Michelle Swittenberg, CEO of two fitness businesses, BRWL Studio and the Triple Threat Challenge. Michelle talks about how after planning her retirement at 48 years old she couldn’t deal with the “sitting all day on a sofa doing nothing” lifestyle which is why she decided to enter the entrepreneurship world in this second phase of her life. Michelle tells us about what aspects of her life led her to decide and plan her retirement, how she came up with her fitness businesses by wanting a more inclusive gym space in which people didn’t feel judged but welcomed, and how she is constantly trying to reinvent herself within this entrepreneurship world.

Michelle Swittenberg

Michelle is the CEO of two fitness businesses, BRWL Studio and the Triple Threat Challenge. She retired at 48 years old from corporate America in 2016 after 25+ years in corporate positions in the areas of product development, strategic planning, and marketing and sales at some of the top companies in the world like Verizon. A few short years into retirement, Michelle’s passion for fitness turned into a calling and in the process she started with her friends the Triple Threat Challenge with the intention of making exercise inclusive, and then met Martesse and BRWL Studio was born. With an MBA from Duke and a BS from the University of Pennsylvania – Wharton, Michelle manages the business side of BRWL Studio.

Amber Aziza, Founder and CEO of AAE Corporation, which houses multiple subsidiaries, has made it her life’s work to provide innovative organizations with expert solutions. After over 10 years, Amber had graced the teams of AIM Healthcare, OptumInsight, Advance Financial, and more. She left the corporate arena to begin her own business, The AG, a firm dedicated to bridging the gap between Millennials and the corporate workspace. After selling The AG’s book of business, Amber began building Amber Aziza Enterprises, a conglomerate of companies dedicated to help small business owners and venture capitalists. It wasn’t long before she missed the excitement of the “people side of business” and shifted her focus back to transforming workforces, changing Amber Aziza Enterprises’ name to AAE Corporation.

Over the course of nearly 20 years, she has worked as professional Dominatrix, practiced Taoist alchemy in one of the oldest female-led monasteries in China and obtained dozens of certifications in different disciplines, including Medical Qi Gong and Systemic Constellations.Since founding The Academy in 2013, Kasia has taught over 4,000 women practical tools to step into leadership positions in their relationships, families, workplaces, and wider communities. Maghan Morin is the co-founder of a coworking space called Thynk Global which connects Black Female Founders around the world. She studied journalism at the University of Missouri but did not pursue that, actually while she was still in college, she opened her first business which consisted in selling women's shoes in her apartment. Afterwards, she moved to London where she worked in a shoe design company but she ended up moving back to her hometown. Nowadays, she is a business woman who is constantly trying to reinvent herself and come up with new entrepreneurship such as Melanated Beauty Spa, which is a luxury skincare spa for black women.
