A brief run-down of this one-hour episode | 31st March 2023

Part one: Suzanna (myself), the host and regular guest star Spike voice our thoughts about Chloe Hayden being unallowed to use a sensory room at an Australian Harry Styles concert, and our musings on the Women with Autism panel at Sydney Opera House. Also, Krispy Kreme donuts get a mention. Plus, strategies on how to be more social - but, this is continued in part two.

Part two: we talk about our favourite sensory treats (Krispy Kreme donuts), and other nostalgic items such as Club Penguin, and Poptropica. We also do a double whammy of strategies on how to have great daily mental health, and how to calm yourself when in sensory overwhelm. Relationships and sexuality expert, Alice Little is mentioned too.

Hello, I’m Jack Foster, I’m 23 years old and I have got autism.  My experiences of school and anxiety are although problems occur there isn’t anything we can do to fix them that’s life either it’s got to do with hard school work and bullying. 

Those are some things we fix with the teachers like keeping an eye on the bully or creating a behaviour plan even if social groups are hard to fit in at school.  I would love to try the 2022 version of Heartbreak High and I thank you for recommending it to me.

On today's twenty-eight-minute podcast episode, We are #empowered I will be having a chit-chat with my new guest star Jack. 

Jack is new to being a guest star on the podcast, so this is a little transcript of what Jack recorded which I then transcribed here. Jack says: "Hi, I'm Jack Foster. I am twenty-three turning twenty-four this year. When I was young, doctors told my mum and dad that I was on the spectrum; the autism spectrum that is. It's not exactly autism like you see on TV, but they say I am on the spectrum. This has its good and not-so-good sides. Like, I need more time to understand social situations which make life complicated, sometimes. But it also enables me to do things that most people can't, such as my date remembrance talent that allows me to do magic tricks with people when they tell me their birthday, like my birthday for instance, what day it was, back when I was born in 99, 24 years ago. I was born on a Friday, and dad likes my trick a lot. He says he is taking me to the casino". 

Just a heads up, there was some general background noise from Jack's side and cockatoos from my side (I am recording again in my bedroom). Yet, there is also a little bit of internet dropping out on Jack's side* and as well as a softer voice from my audio. Let's just say this episode is very raw and real indeed.
