  • ¡Feliz Aniversario Tribu!

  • ST #8 - Racism

    Racism:

“It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.” – Audre Lorde.

Racism is not new to this world. Since the beginning of mankind, people are suffering from racism. From the ages of colonization, the slavery etc. people with a different skin colour are regarded in a different way. It pains us to see that in 2021 this problem is still very much alive. More and more, we see polarization in the community between ethnical groups, which causes extreme left and extreme right wings. We need to come together, as human beings, and stop thinking in black and white, and find common ground. We don’t always have to agree, but we should be capable to understand and respect each other.

In this chapter we interview Kellin Ndongala Luanda, somebody who has suffered racism himself while growing up, and is still facing from time to time. Somebody who wants to share his values and ideas on how to tackle racism with the audience and especially his 2 sons.

    Main take-aways from this podcast:
    - Everybody can have racist thoughts. Acknowledge them, and try to learn from that in order to work on the problem.
    - Embrace differences. You don’t have to agree with everything, but be open to learn and listen to each other.
    - Integration in the society is critical to attack racism.
    - Don’t bury the past, even though it is nothing to be proud of. Use it to educate the new generations so the same mistakes can be avoided.

  • ST #6 - Now it's your turn!

    Now it is your turn:

“The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.” – Vincent Lombardi.

Between 2019 and 2020 we lived a very radical change, the majority started 2020 with great opportunities. Derived from the pandemic, we have seen structures fall, modification in the organizational pyramids of companies, massive layoffs, human and economic losses, and endless situations that new generations have forced us to leave our comfort zone and seek our own opportunities.

In this chapter we interview Serge Autrique, a man who decided to shine with his own light and build his own path.

    Main take-aways from this podcast:
    - Find your passions so that you can shine and be happy
    - Choose different mentors to guide you and make you a better person
    - Learn from the mistakes of our parents and grandparents
    - The new generation will take this sanitary crisis with them in their decision making in the future

  • ST SDG5 #2 International Women's Day

International Women's Day is a day for all of us to be aware of the situations that are experienced around us and to actively get involved in creating a fairer and more equitable world and environment.

It is a day to listen and to set a example that the voices that arise will be heard. For women to know that if there is abuse, discrimination or injustice, we have to speak up.

Our voices are important because if we want to change the world, we need words. It is not about celebrating a day, nor a set of qualities, it is about celebrating a movement that seeks a more united and just society, because when a woman triumphs and is respected, society and countries also do so.

Women have a lot to contribute.
