As a mum of four, whenever my child was starting a new school, I felt quite anxious. In today's episode, I share five concerns that mothers/parents have when their child is about to start BIG school or a new school altogether. I also share tips of how you can remain calm and confident in this new phase of your child's life.
Thank you for listening. Please share some of your "back to school" experiences. You can also write to us about anything you would love us to share by emailing [email protected]

Today in the guest chair, we have Chinyere Erharuyi but I call her Extraordinary Chichi. She's an amazing mum of two, who lives in the UK. She shares her journey and the battle she faced with infertility, the stigma attached to it, her complicated pregnancy, the doctors' death sentence and much more!
The song she sang at the 23rd minute brought it all home for me. Everyone, this is a MUST LISTEN!
Some highlights.
"I felt as if I was in a sea adrift. I didn't know where the waves were going to take me. The only thing I was sure of was that I have this God that was not wicked. " Chinyere Erharuyi
"The pain of remembering that I don't belong if I don't have a baby in my marriage was another willpower. I wasn't willing to give up." Chinyere Erharuyi.

I did not plan to take a break from podcasting but one thing led into another and time just flew by. As a mum of four, I had a lot to sort out before the holiday. Thanks to those who sent me emails asking if I was okay. I was touched.
In today's Voicenote, I talk about KidStoryTime with Iffy, my other YouTube channel. Here is the link

This week, Iffy records a little voice note and shares her reaction to the news about a 73 year old Nigerian nanny sentenced to jail in the U.S for force feeding a baby under her care.
Force feeding is an ancient practice. But I wouldn't say common, especially in 2019.
Forcing a baby to eat against their will, especially when the baby is positioned in an awkward manner is horrific. So if you are listening to #sweetmother podcast right now, and know of someone, a granny, a mother, a mother- in -law, aunty, nanny or other carers that practice this barbaric act, please advise against this method of feeding because of its deadly consequences.
Thanks so much for listening to the show as always. Don't forget to subscribe.

On today's episode, we sit down with Izzy, my ten year old daughter, to talk about some of her favourite things. She excites us with what she calls a Nigerian accent and shares her take on bullying and making friends in a new school.
On a personal note, I've realised that bonding meaningfully with our kids, whether young or old is one of the keys to living a life of joy and happiness.

Can you imagine waking up very early tomorrow morning, like, actually getting out of bed, one or two hours before your usual waking up time? Are you panicking at the thought? Are you thinking, "Well, I'm not an early morning person" "I work through the night so that's impossible." "I'm up at night cleaning the mess in my house." "I always catch up with my TV shows late in the night, so naaaa" I'm with you!
Waking up earlier than my usual time was not funny at all, at first! But after sometime, I realised that if my early mornings, gave me the power to accomplish certain goals before the kids woke up, then I would do anything to keep accomplishing these goals. As a mother, the goals that contribute to my joy are worth my time!
If you are not a "morning person", there are times of the day when you can still be productive and make it your power hour. Our bodies and lifestyles are different but personally I prefer getting things done and over with in the mornings.
Today on the show, I talked about
*The benefits of waking up earlier than the rest of the family.
*Actionable tips to make us ALL want to make the most of our mornings.
If you do wake up early, how has it been for you?
If you don't, please start! Challenge yourself.
If you do wake early, and don't know what to do in that time, please contact me!

Dear Friends, today I'm introducing you to my amazing, fabulicious mother! My mum is a rare gem. A mother of four (all girls...beg your pardon...all ladies!) Grandma to fourteen! (I doubt if there's anymore on the way!) Lol! She was married for about 5 years. Became a widow at age 34. She's been a nurse for over 35 years and specifically a senior matron until she retired. She loves the lord and she's the most reassuring person you could think of!
Show Notes
Today, I was honoured to have my mum talk about one or two things within the framework of SWEET MOTHER PODCAST - J.O.Y.F.U.L. Trust her, she talked some more! I definitely will be having more conversations with her, as there are areas I did not cover and would love to. For now, please meet my mother, Catherine!
QUESTIONS I'D NEVER EVER HAD THE CHANCE TO ASK HER!*Early childhood in Northern Nigeria.
*The joys and challenges of her nursing career.
*Juggling life a mother, wife and nurse.
*What was I like as a child?
*Her parenting style.
*Getting children involved in family life.
*Advice for new and experienced mums.
I will forever treasure this interview – basically because I got to reconnect with my mum. So many do not have the opportunity of reconnecting with their loved ones. Listening as she poured out her heart was very enriching and uplifting. I'm glad she's my first story/guest on this podcast because she has paved the way for more blessings! Dear friends, you will LOVE this episode.
Hear all about it in today's episode.
