Your Host Grant, Gives insight into his Reflection and Feedback FOLLOWING the 2023 U.S Open Winter Nationals. These types of episodes aim to show vulnerability and perspectives from an athlete after performing in a competition. While these won't be the thoughts that every athlete wrestles with, nor are they the challenges Grant encounters every meet, no competition will be the same. The best performers can adapt to the situations in which they are given. We hope that "check-ins" like these empower athletes, coaches, and any listener to be willing to be more vulnerable with themselves, their peers, and coaches to help further your understanding of internal athlete dynamics to better prepare for greater performances and life events.
Understanding ourselves better will allow us to perform at a greater level not deter from it.
"Anti-fragile doesn't mean I am not allowed to be emotional. I can press into a hard thing and burst into tears after it. Anti-fragile in stature doesn't mean I'm anti-fragile in emotion. We must allow ourselves to be human. In fact, in accepting and owning what I feel, I'm leaning into being anti-fragile. My emotion won't break me. I will use it to make me stronger." - Jeff Raker
