Ever grabbed a kombucha off the shelf thinking you're doing your gut a favor? Yeah… about that. In this episode, we sit down with Gina, founder of the Swiss Kombucha Company, to blow the lid off what's actually in most store-bought kombucha—and spoiler alert, a lot of it isn't even kombucha. Gina takes us behind the scenes of her journey from brewing 200 liters a month in her sticky kitchen to visiting 30+ breweries across North America and Europe (pretending to write a blog that never happened) to launching her own company. What started as a personal quest to manage food allergies turned into a full-blown mission to make the real deal—no concentrates, no pasteurization, no BS.
But this conversation goes way beyond the bottle. We get into the gut-brain connection, why your "healthy" yogurt probably isn't doing what you think it is, and the infuriating reality of being a woman whose doctor Googles your symptoms on Wikipedia and tells you you're too fat to have Celiac disease.
What You'll Learn:
Real Talk Moments:
Gina shares the jaw-dropping story of being dismissed by a doctor who pulled up Wikipedia to prove she couldn't have Celiac disease—because she wasn't thin enough. Danna opens up about being told her 25-symptom list was "all in her head" and getting put on antidepressants instead of being properly tested. And the whole crew gets fired up about the quick-fix culture that taught us to reach for a pill instead of questioning what's on our plate—while we spend hours scrolling Facebook saying we "don't have time" to cook.

Avoiding everyone-itis is a better path for most small business owners. Certainly better than being a generalist.
"Who's your target customer?" I asked.
" Well, anyone." They responded with proud smiles.
"Oh no...here we go." I thought to myself.
When it comes to starting or running a business nearly every program, coach or consultant will ask you who are you targeting. There's a really good reason for that (hint: it's not to annoy you). It's because the answers to most of the questions you have around your business, depend on who you're targeting.
Most things can be done in a much more targeted and efficient way when you're clear about who your offer (product, service, software or other) best serves.
Everyone-itis is what I refer to as the disease of creating an offer targeted to towards everyone. Most businesses that suffer from it are at best struggling and sluggish. I've had many guests on the show share how when the made the decision to be more focused it shifted their business in the right direction.
In this Episode I'll share 3 problems that casting too wide a net for your target customer can cause in your business. Enjoy!

Commonly businesses believe they have to set their prices low to entice customers. However more often than not it can be counterproductive to - in fact it might be what's keeping people from buying. They just don't believe they'll get the value, because the price is so darn low. That's what my guest learned and shared with us during this episode.
She was advised to raise her prices and when she did her conversion rate shifted. Maybe the price was better aligned with expectations. Maybe it was that she herself believed more in the price she was asking for. Maybe it was both and more. The fact is things changed for her business for the better.

There are three types of discounts effective, ineffective and unnecessary. Most small business could benefit from being more careful about the discounts they offer and when. In fact, when it comes to "leaking" profits, poor discounting habits are often the biggest drain on your profits. It makes sense to put more rigor and thought behind what you're doing.
Preparing in advance for what you will do and when, and having a clear internal policy for your team (if you have one) will help you eliminate unnecessary discounting. It can also help you improve the effectiveness of the discounts you do offer.
In this episode:
We take a look at 6 questions you should be asking yourself before you decide to grant that discount or even before you decide to lower the price. These questions will help you be more clear about why your offering them and help you be more clear about the business purpose behind the decision.

In today’s discussion I speak with Mamobo Ogoro, who is a Social psychologist, Social Entrepreneur and Founder & CEO of Gorm Media - an impact focused digital media company based in Ireland.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mamobo identified that the subject she heavily researched in her studies was rising to the surface in media on a scale that she had never experienced before. Seeing a clear need for conversations and cultural exchanges around social issues with diverse perspectives, she started on this journey to shine a light on individuals with stories of their experiences to tell. Tune in to hear more about how this has evolved since the very beginning.
Show Notes:Mamobo shared the book that she is currently reading which significantly aligns with the mission of Gorm Media, Beyond Your Bubble by Tania Israel. She also told us that she cannot stop listening to the music from the Disney movie, Encanto as it has many messages that children of migrants are likely to relate to. One of her favourite artists and songs is “I Am Light” by India Arie. An audiobook that she highly recommends is The Righteous Mind by Jonathan Haidt - Why good people are divided by politics and religion.
To find out more about Gorm Media, be sure to check them out on LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter and their website. To connect with Mamobo, you can find her on LinkedIn and Twitter.

Welcome to the So Frickin' Healthy podcast, where we talk about the wild world of health and wellness with a side of sass!
Today, Megan and I, Danna, are kicking things off by getting to know each other like we’re on a first date, but instead of awkward small talk, we’re all about sharing our juicy journeys through health coaching and life in Switzerland. Spoiler alert: I’m basically a hippie who fell in love and ended up in the Alps.
We’ll talk about my rollercoaster ride of health transformations, the hilariously absurd moments of convincing family members about healthy choices, and how I turned my dad’s foot saga into a success story. Trust me, you don’t want to miss the part where I dish out some real talk about food, self-love, and the importance of grace when navigating your health journey. So grab your favorite snack (preferably not gummy bears), and let’s get this party started!
