For Annie Boyle, the hardest thing about the Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the flyering. And I can't say I disagree! Not that I've ever been.

The festival that lights up Sydney every winter has been drawing more and more criticism of late, with the latest debacle following the malfunctioned drone show that saw 90 drones fall into the harbour. So are the rumours true? Is Vivid actually washed? Nathan Roach thinks so, and he joins me on the show this week to explain why. Alongside Mark Williamson, the three of us attempt to come up with some solutions to bring Vivid back to it's prime. But are they viable? And whose idea will Nathan like better?!

Also on the show is comedian Annie Boyle! Annie has been performing stand up around the country for many years now, but has far more strings to her bow than that! A graduate of NIDA she has some proper acting chops, which she was able to show off in a few episodes of Colin From Accounts. Annie joined me in the Sydney Tonight studios to talk about her time studying under one of her heroes: Sonia from McLeod's Daughters, as well as what life was like growing up in the small town of Henty in regional NSW.

And finally, with the Sydney Film Festival all but upon us I put movies under the microscope this week by testing how realistic their plots are. Specifically, the classic movie troupe where one person tries to be in two places at once! You sometimes see in movies and sitcoms a character inviting two different people to the same place and having to continuously switch between them without either getting suspicious. So this week on the show, I tried to do exactly that. Did I succeed though? Or are movies actually onto something? You'll have to listen to find out.

After taking a little trip across the ditch recently, I was shocked to discover that the Halal Snack Pack is known by another name in Aotearoa New Zealand. To help explain that (and several other cultural differences between our nations), comedian David Correos kindly joined me in the Sydney Tonight studios!

David is one of the most exciting and unpredictable comedians not just in New Zealand, but almost definitely the Southern Hemisphere. If you've ever seen him perform before then you'll know that it's impossible to see where his shows will go, and that is what people keep coming back for! He'll be touring the Edinburgh Fringe Festival later this year so if you feel like heading over to Scotland for some comedy then I can't recommend him enough.

Otherwise David is always floating around Sydney from time to time and is easy to catch on Instagram!

That's the question Teen Jesus' manager asked Scarlett and the rest of her bandmates over the phone last year. Her answer? "Who? Violent Soho?"

As it turned out, it was them! Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers had the chance to tour around Australia and the US in 2025 with Pearl Jam, another feather in the cap of this band that has just gone from strength to strength!

Over the last few years it seems like Teen Jesus have been unstoppable, winning ARIA awards, selling out shows, releasing their second album Glory, and now appearing on Sydney Tonight!

I spoke to Scarlett about her first steps into music (playing the cello), what it was like getting to share a green room with Eddie Vedder, and her impressive tattoo credentials. We also spoke about Skins and how cool they made smoking look even though it's soooo bad for you.

Considering he's a comic from the UK who only came to Australia for the first time in 2019, you wouldn't expect Ed Night to be such a big Masterchef Australia fan. And yet? He is! In fact, he's such a big fan of the show that when he last came to the country and wouldn't stop talking about his love for it in interviews, he was used as "a patsy" to rebuild the reputation of George Calombaris following his fall from grace in the public eye. But that's not all Ed spoke to me about! As a fellow juggler, we shared stories of our lowest moments with the hobby and our frustrations that it is one of the least useful skills to have. Ed also explained why, despite countless hours on stage and numerous awards to his name, he still doesn't feel like he's ever actually done a comedy gig. Will that change during his run at the Sydney Comedy Festival this year? You'll have to go along and decide for yourself!

Also in the show- I'll give you one of the best* and most surprising ways to get lunch for yourself during the week if you work in the city. It's not meal prep, it's not Uber Eats, but a secret third option. Could it work for you? If you're not phased on taste or cleanliness then maybe! And if not, at least producer Annabelle Moore got a delicious panini in the name of science.

And finally, Lily Hensby is back to finish what we started with our fake episode of Seinfeld in Sydney! As one of the greatest Julia Louise-Dreyfus impersonators in this city, Lily brings the character of Elaine to life while I fumble my way through Jerry and Kramer impressions alongside her. Lily's show I, Julia is on at the Sydney Comedy Festival at the end of April and will be nothing less than a 1000% improvement on whatever I have subjected her to during her time on this show.
