“These two branches of education (physical and mental) seem to have been given by some god to man to train these two parts of us – the one to train our philosophic part, the other our energy and initiative. They are not intended the one to train body, the other mind, except incidentally, but to ensure a proper harmony between the two” (Plato, 375BC)
The mind and body were meant to be trained in unison, with each enhancing the benefits of the other. When the mind is stimulated during exercise, the body searches for more efficient movement and functionality. Movement energizes the brain, when done intentionally.
In this week's episode, Kyle, Matthew and Roddy break down how cannabis and exercise can unlock new levels of efficiency and productivity for your fitness, life and work.
Roddy and Matthew describe how using cannabis before their workouts heightens their senses, and helps them move more in tune with the unique rhythm of their bodies, which leads to more functional movement.
Topics range from the misrepresentation of cannabis through history and the media, flow states, creativity, psychedelics, adaptogens, and fitness as a way of life.

No matter who you are and what you are working on, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by major milestones and seemingly insurmountable challenges. The Mind is wired to focus on the negative- the problems or shortcomings rather than the wins and successes. Katie Leonard joins us on the podcast today to talk about the importance of celebrating small wins, and why intrinsic motivation matters.
As Katie writes, "Celebrating Small Wins catalyzes and nourishes your intrinsic motivation, therefore allowing you to drop more coins in your confidence bank." Katie's words on the podcast today are exactly what you need to hear to keep you pushing to achieve your goals and on the path towards the life you want to live.

You exercise your body, but do you exercise your mind? What are the foundational bricks to lay before going on to actualize higher level goals and create a balanced and harmonious life? Diet, connection, mindset? Mental health is certainly one of them.
Matthew and Kyle discuss the importance of exercising the mind and encourage you to make prioritize your mental health. It isn't as simple as having an "ah ha" moment and anxiety and stress going away forever. It's a day in day out process that requires effort and intention.

"Order is a prerequisite of excellence and in an unpredictable world, good habits are a safe haven of certainty. Freedom, power, and success require self discipline." -Ryan Holiday
Matthew and Kyle are on the pod today sharing core tenants to turning action into habit.
Topic shaping:
-Excellence is a state of mind, a feeling that you are living in alignment with the person you want to be. Habitual action toward your goals is what creates excellence in the mind.
-Determine the actions you want to turn into habits (what do you want to improve? Who do you want to be? What does that look like?)
-Going from 0 to 1. To turn something into a habit, introduce it into your life. Become aware of it, begin to implement here and there, don't dive into an all or nothing situation for yourself, you'll burn out quickly. Examples: eating clean, meditating, waking up early, new workout routine etc.
-Determine the frequency and stick to it: Once you've become familiar with the action, challenge yourself to stick with it on a habitual basis. Whether it's every day or once a week, create some level of regiment around it so it starts to feel like a goal.
-Give the action a chance to become a habit: The wavelength of turning something difficult into a habit is that it always gets shitty before you start to see the benefit. Stick through it past that point, force yourself to at first. Value your commitment by giving the action a proper chance to turn into a habit.
