After Jesus rose from the dead he gave specific instructions to his followers about the need to prayerfully prepare for the coming of the Spirit. The Gift of the Spirit would empower those followers to live as representatives of Jesus to fulfil a local and global mission. This message opens the first chapter of Acts to help us understand how to live in light of the resurrection.

Words of people just before they die often indicate those things that are most important to them. This message considers the last seven things Jesus said while he was on the cross. It also addresses the matter of whether Jesus was a victim or victor and whether what happened to him what overshadowed by what happened through him.
