T-Time with Tori Totlis episodes

November 14, 2024 160. Getting Back on the Golf Course for Opening Day with Alix Chesno
As we head into a new golf season here in Arizona, my sister Alix and I talk about what we’re looking forward to, as well as what we’re doing to keep on top of our fitness going into winter. We’re also giving you a sneak peek into our 2025 calendar of events and tournaments!

After giving our thoughts on new regulations announced by our Women’s Golf Association, we’re talking pilates and hot yoga breakthroughs and mishaps, before getting into the little tweaks we’re making to our golf game.

This is where a lot of our goals diverge, with Alix giving her thoughts on improving as an active competitor and drawing lessons from other sports like tennis, and myself talking about the power of consistent practice.

Finally, we give our thoughts on amplifying female voices in golf course design and share experiences from recent tournaments!!

Look out for info on Next Year’s Retreats! More details are coming soon!

November 07, 2024 159. Catching Up with Kim
Pushing past my comfort zone in golf has always been a challenge, but with the help of the ever-amazing Colorado Hall of Famer Kim Eaton, I went on a journey that led me all the way to the USGA Mid-Am.

Today, Kim and I are reflecting on how entering some of those more intimidating tournaments can actually elevate your game. I talk about my commitment to compete in the Arizona State Match Play Tournament despite initial hesitations. One thing stays pretty consistent: The friends we make and the personal insecurities we overcome at these events always end up being as rewarding as the game itself.

Kim had a packed summer. From one tournament after another–from the Senior Match Play in Colorado to an unforgettable win at the state Mid-Am–Kim gives us an insightful blow-by-blow account of her prep work all through to the end of each match.

Finally, we talk about the ins and outs of organizing large golf events, and weigh the pros and cons of various locations to create the most memorable experience possible for all participants!

If there’s anything to take away from this episode, it’s the literal game-changing power of having a mentor at your side. And that if you don’t have one yet, it’s time to put yourself out there and feel the pressure of tournament play!

October 24, 2024 157. Playing with My Mother at the Cali Crush Invitational with Alix
When my mom accepted the invitation to join us for the 2024 California Crush Invitational, I knew it would be an unforgettable experience. My sister Alix joins me today to reflect on Mom’s first-ever golf tournament experience and the lessons women golfers can take to heart through her example!
From Napa to Tampa, Mom’s unique challenges as a first-timer speak to the women out there who are thinking about taking the leap into their first tournament, but for one reason or another, they are holding back–whether due to a higher handicap index or otherwise.
With Mom being a casual golfer by nature, Alix and I never felt prouder witnessing her achieve her first birdie! She adapted beautifully to the formalities of an 18-hole match, thanks in no small part to the supportive environment we were immersed in throughout those two amazing days!
Of course, it wouldn’t be a conversation with Alix without a diversion into the latest golf fashion trends (can you say “wide-leg pants”?). After a quick discussion on said trends, Alix and I wrap things up by talking about the power of connecting with like-minded individuals who share our passion for women empowering women out on the course!

October 17, 2024 156. Inside the Golf Media World with Golf Channel's Blair O'Neal
I’m sitting down with the amazing Blair O’Neal. A TV personality, golfer, and model, Blair shares how she’s able to seamlessly balance a thriving career, motherhood, and her passion for golf!
Blair talks to us about raising two young boys while managing the demanding travel schedule that comes with a dual career in media and sports. October 08, 2024 154. Things You Might Not Know About Running a Golf Club with Daryl and Derek Crawford
I’m sitting down with Daryl and Derek Crawford to learn just what it takes to run a golf club, drawing from their over four decades of experience! Known in the golf world as D&D, both identical twins have dedicated their lives to the sport for 40 years and counting! Today, Daryl works as the General Manager of Papago Golf Course in Phoenix, while Daryl serves as general manager at Coldwater Golf Club in the West Valley. In 2020, the brothers were presented with the Updegraff Award, which is given annually to a person who, “By his or her actions and accomplishments exemplify the Spirit of the Game.” Listen in as Daryl and Derek recall their shared love of golf from an early age–a journey that took them from forming a high school golf team to serving as tour representatives for PING and other programs at top courses worldwide. Asked what it takes to operate a successful golf course, the brothers tackle everything from day and membership rates to ball management, to the maintenance of practice areas, to maximizing tee times and revenue streams. To the Crawford brothers, impeccable service and a quality product can set a golf course apart, even in a competitive market. Finally, we’re talking about the evolving retail landscape within the industry, and how brands are racing to meet the needs of underrepresented groups in the world of amateur and professional golf!

September 26, 2024152. Revisiting Tournament Play 15 Years Later with Justin Klemballa
I’m back with golf coach Justin Klambala, who's making his return to competitive golf after a hiatus since 2009. With his signature energy and passion for the sport that we’ve all come to know and love, he’s here to tell us all about his comeback and the lessons he’s learned along the way!
Justin kicks things off talking about the differences between outcome goals and process goals, and why our long-term success in any endeavor–golf or otherwise–depends on making more of the latter.
Drawing from his personal experience, Justin illustrates why keeping your focus on the present moment during tournament play is one of the best things you can do, and why obsessively checking your score ultimately makes little difference on your ability to win!
“All I can do is try to hit great shots,” Justin says. “If I do that, I’m stacking the odds in my favor and do my best. If my best beats everybody else that day, I win. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t!”
Finally, Justin shares why being your own cheerleader is a game-changer for building confidence, the self-talk secret that separates great golfers from average golfers, and his career goals moving forward.
