We get to see that pivotal shift in his character at the start of this minute, which may be the moment that finally brings Steve up to the 2010s. 
There’s a lot going on in the conversation between Tony and Bruce. Two like-minded scientists, both dealing with their own issues that Tony sees as a ‘terrible privelege.’ We get a read on who they are from the dialogue as well, not to mention some really cool tech play.
