  • The Creek Don't Rise...

There is a saying, "God willing and the creek don't rise." It is usually said that you have every intention to do something unless the unexpected happens. Well the phrase came to mind this morning because the actual water did rise yesterday...the unexpected occurred. What do we do with the unexpected?

We are going to wrap up our Summer Concert Series in the same style we wrapped it up on Sunday at Tabor, with a hard rock song from 2013. The artist is Five Finger Death Punch and the song is called Wrong Side of Heaven. There is a lot of religious terminology and we'll sort through the meaning. Enjoy!

  • Semi-Charmed Life

Today we are going to wrap up the week with a song from 1997 called, Semi-Charmed Life by Third Eye Blind. Just as a warning, this song is about addiction, so there are drug references and it is probably not a song fro young kids. With all that...enjoy the episode today.

There are a lot of ideas out there about what this song means. So today I will talk about it from my perspective and give you a quote that reflects the lyrics pretty closely.

  • Jesus by Queen

Usually I just put the title of the song as the episode title, but today I put the artist there as well because just calling it Jesus may not be something that catches your attention. 1973 on Queen's self titled album, there is a song named "Jesus." As far as we know Freddie Mercury was not a follower of Jesus, but chose to sing this song. Today we'll discuss the lyrics.
