We are sticking around in 1 Corinthians today with chapter 3, verse 6. In the church we are filled with humans who are flawed. We humans try and look at "our ministry" and want all the glory while we pass the buck on the flaws. It is not about you! Today we are going to talk about that.

Today we are going to 1 Corinthians 1:28- But God chose things despised by the world...God's Kingdom looks upside-down to how we are used to considering things. We think the powerful, wealthy people are the ones we should use to pass along our significance. God thinks differently and I am glad for it.

Can God change your opinion about people? Hopefully the answer to that question is yes. We are in the Book of Acts chapter 10 as God has been changing Peter's opinion about people, in particular the gentiles. This would be a difficult transition, as Peter has been raised to believe gentiles are unclean. Where does God need to change your perspective on people?

We are closing out the week with two related Acts passages; Chapter 2 and 3. Peter is bold in his preaching and very pointed. But who is this Peter guy. He acts like he wasn't the one who denied Jesus three times. He says, "You killed the author of life!" But God...did not have the story end there.

I was surprised to find that there are not a lot of But God...moments in the Gospels. We'll only talk about this one today in Matthew 19:26. Don't take this verse to mean that you can do anything that is impossible. We need to have the same heart of God and see what impossible things can happen when God is able to work.

We have another Psalm in the mix today as we talk about But God... Health and spirit can diminish. This is a true statement that I am sure we have all felt over the years. There are a lot of things we try and carry- burdens, fear, worry, anxiety...over all kinds of issues. What are we going to do with all that baggage? Most of us still try and carry it all by ourselves. There is a better way.

We are back today with more But God...Scripture. Today we are in Psalm 49 and we have a big But God moment. We are surrounded by death and fear and we lose focus on God we can easily get swallowed up in that. But God...has a different story.

Today we are taking a look at 1 Samuel and Saul and David. David is on the run because Saul wants him dead. This is a constant battle and Saul wants David dead. In Chapter 23 it looks like Saul has tracked David down and has now sent the army after him. There is a lot of fear. But God... does a work that is often not attributed to God.
